I'm willing to do just about anything. You powerful people deserve all the help you can get! I need to know what aspects off the protest need help from the outside. Do you guys need food and blankets? I know the cold weather is coming maybe I could figure out how to get some portable heaters out there? I know a lot of countries are helping to provide food for y'all but is there anything you need help organizing out here I want to help!

You're good people.

Put signs in your windows and workplaces, donate to the movements, pizza, food, etc. Keep a copy/paste section of good articles to help combat forum trolls. One of the goals is education, be polite to people, even trolls, there might be others reading things and you will gain more respect if you are civil and level headed and just constantly dumping hard FACTS, then if it gets turned into a flame war.

Each 'Occupy' has a requested list of donations, if you can't do that they try to spend some free time putting feet on street. The only thing making these movements large is that people are actually there.

And for God's sake, get your money out of large banks and into credit unions.

Spread awareness online.

You can order food for the occupiers. You can write your thoughts and post them. Read articles and post them on your facebook. Help spread the word. Start an occupation where you are. Withdraw from your mainstream bank and join a credit union. Boycott major corporations. Join an anti-globalization movement. Try to save your resources, don't through them away, donate to non profit organizations that are helping to fight capitalism or help the community. Boycott boycott boycott. Lots of things you can do. And there is power in the things you don't do as well. Don't spend your money at McDonalds, or Wallmart. Get your food from local farmers. Educate your self, politically. And live with love in your heart. Follow the politics of love before hatred and anger. Live with peace in your heart.

The Only thing keeping me here is I'm watching my brother's kids while he is at work and his wife is in jail. She gets out in a month and when she does I'm going to go but until then I have time to organize until i go. Is there anything I can help collect to bring to provide other protesters?

Hi! Where do these responses go? I mean to the poll you gave the embed tag for?

[-] 1 points by RichardGates (1529) 12 years ago

to a spreadsheet. http://blog.richardkentgates.com i have links to my other stuff and i am not affiliated with any groups. i am an OWS supporter and am trying to collect data at the grassroots level instead of letting the media count and spin the data. when i get a large enough sample i will present it in the raw for organizers to use, the media, and i intend to use it for starting a discussion group in google groups.

Hey awesome! We should swap links! I am doing my OWS support here:

www.activistinterviewproject.com

Hope you like! If you do, email me and we can swap!

sweet. holla@richardkentgates.com i will begin constructing the web resources this week. idk if you can help but i need to begin gathering volunteers with a background in politics to act as group directors. i will front the money for the first year but i would like to see it become self sustaining. should not be hard, a google apps account is $6 per user per year. you can find your link on my blog.

Don't think that because you're not in the thick of it 24 hours a day that you can't help. Even if you took just 15-30 minutes of each day and used that to read about what is happening and helped to spread the word, that would help. Imagine the power of millions of people taking just that small amount of time! It's enough, so don't worry that you could do more. Do what you can and do it consistently. And just keep doing it. You'll make a difference, I promise you.

I cant leave either. I an in Southeast Missouri, wishing I could be in NYC. So I do what I can, donate, spread the word, correct lies when you spot them on the forums or news articles.

Talking to others is a GREAT way to help. I've talked to tons of people that had heard of "some protest going on", but really had no idea what it was all about or why people felt the need to protest. Now those same people are doing the same thing I am. Spreading the word to others!

There is a lot you can do without being in NYC.

Occupy wherever you are...I live in a wonderful one stoplight town with a healthy supportive community...a group of us met in a local park and we are holding our own general assemblies to start discussing and connecting on another level. Many of us have sent money up to OWS....and a few have already pilgrimaged to OWS (with more of us wanting too).

Beautiful. When we number in the tens of millions then they won't be able to ignore us. Work to get all your friends to withdraw money from Corporate Banks, especially the ones who got bailouts: B of A; Wells Fargo; etc.

My friends and I have our money in a great local community bank....It's actually been featured on NPR a number of times....I can't support BOFA, citibank etc etc....so yes the word is spreading and we always encourage folks to move their money out of BOFA....
