I think that you all need to see this. If this guy can smile as he does, then so can the rest of us. How dare we complain. We have what we need to make changes, and still many of us sit in our chairs. GET UP!

Slaves sang all the time, didn't mean slavery was a good thing! There is a difference in being happy in-spite of hardships and being blind to the situation itself. No matter how happy I was working in tobacco for $20 a day as a child doesn't legitimize underpaid child labor now does it??? By that logic, I should be begging to be a slave because then I would have value to the wealthy and they wouldn't want mark me up, disable me, make my kids go hungry and get sick. There were things you couldn't do slaves without hurting your bottomline, not so with free people. Free people get crippled on the job, they can talk to the government about it, no sweat to the employer. Free people get sick and die, no problem, just hire another one. Free people can't feed their kids on that salary, who cares? They want to do away with food-stamps. So yeah, slavery would be an upgrade to the free system we have going now!!! But does that make it right???

Some truth to that, 'slavery would be an upgrade to the free system we have going now!'.... slave owners looked after their property (slaves) to some degree.

Yes they did! My granddad "set out an extra row" for as long as he was able to grow his own food so that anyone that ever worked for him in the fields could come ask for food if they had none in hard times. Yes he was racist, he didn't believe black men could make it without that help sometimes. Lots of people think they understand racism, and slavery but they forget, slaves even got Sunday clothes for church, medical care etc. Free whites didn't get those perks. And when slavery was abolished, White men hired blacks to work in summer harvesting but didn't pay them enough to see them threw winter. Then they loaned them money to feed their kids and they couldn't leave because they were slaves to their debts. But those children got fed and no one was allowed to go hungry. The shacks they were housed in were an abomination and they had little to show for their labor except a full belly but at least they had that. How many working people are on food-stamps??? Just saying. How many people are debt free? How many people can set their own hours because they are beholden to no one? They are slaves and they aren't even well kept slaves, pardon me for saying they ain't got it as good as a house slave yet.

Very inspiring. Whatever handicaps we have, physical, or emotional, we can still make a difference.

I bawled my eyes out! This guy is amazing! What perspective! Its amazing...people WANT to connect with eachother. People would be just fine I think, if government wouldn't cram the racial, divide and conquer bullshit down our throats.

Slavery....would be better....than what we have....now...there is still slavery in the modern world. I suggest that all of you talk to one of those slaves before you start spewing such asinine statements.
