So much for "They hate us because of our freedoms."

[-] 2 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

You're right.

Brazil and Japan have the same freedoms as the USA, and I never saw any Iranians burning the Brazilian or the Japanese flag...

[-] 1 points by mvjobless (370) 12 years ago

Maybe it's because Brazil and Japan are not viewed as imperialist scum like the USA is.

[-] 1 points by TruthIsViral (6) 12 years ago

Good point.

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 12 years ago

Brazil and Japan are not America.

[-] 2 points by HarryCrew07 (433) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by TruthIsViral (6) 12 years ago

It's important that people know these informations.

[-] 1 points by TruthIsViral (6) 12 years ago

How many time until the articles on Wikipedia are vandalized by CIA and Mossad agents?

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

Please, spread this information.

People need to know the truth.

[-] 0 points by TruthIsViral (6) 12 years ago

I will.

Very important information here.

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

And guess what...

After shoting down a civilian airliner, killing all 290 passengers and crew aboard, including 66 children, the men of the USS Vincennes were all awarded Combat Action Ribbons for completion of their tours in a combat zone. Lustig, the air-warfare coordinator, received the Navy Commendation Medal, often given for acts of heroism or meritorious service.

Unbeliveable...

"The 1953 Iranian coup d'état (known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup[3]) was the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the intelligence agencies of the United Kingdom and the United States under the name TPAJAX Project.[4] The coup saw the transition of Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi from a constitutional monarch to an authoritarian one who relied heavily on United States support to hold on to power until his own overthrow in February 1979.[5]"

"Iran Air Flight 655 (IR655) was a civilian jet airliner shot down by U.S. missiles on 3 July 1988, over the Strait of Hormuz, toward the end of the Iran–Iraq War."

I wonder how many Americans know about these facts... Probably less than 10% of Americans...

[-] 1 points by Febs (824) from Plymouth Meeting, PA 12 years ago

Congratulations. History matters.

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

I never understood why some Iranians burn American flags in protests.

After reading those articles on Wikipedia, I think that now I understand the reason...

[-] 1 points by Febs (824) from Plymouth Meeting, PA 12 years ago

Yup. Very good stuff every American who wants to have an opinion on Iran should know. Our policies come back to bite us in the ass every 40 years or so.

[-] 1 points by rayl (1007) 12 years ago

unfortunately, this is not the only country where the u.s. has pulled this sort of thing.

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

I know. The CIA orchestrated a coup in Indonesia in 1965, and put Suharto in power.

Dictator Suharto, with direct support from the CIA, killed between ONE MILLION and TWO MILLION people in Indonesia...

[-] 1 points by skizzy (445) 12 years ago

Obama's mother and step father worked for Suharto ....

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

Seriously?

Suharto was a genocidal butcher. He killed more than one million people for sure.

[-] 1 points by TruthIsViral (6) 12 years ago

That's a lot of people. This guy was a monster as terrible as Hitler.

Can't believe the American government was behind this...

[-] 1 points by skizzy (445) 12 years ago

In 1965, Lolo Soetoro had been called back from Hawaii by General Suharto to serve as an officer in the Indonesian military to help launch a bloody CIA-backed genocide of Indonesian Communists and Indonesian Chinese

[-] 1 points by rayl (1007) 12 years ago

UK and U.S. 'draw up joint plan to attack Iran': Evidence of nuclear programme raises tension in Middle East

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2056873/Iran-attack-drawn-UK-US-Middle-East-tensions-rise.html#ixzz1cbWfKgwh

this is not my idea of what america stands for

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

For those who don't want to read everything, here goes a summary:

  • In 1953, the CIA orchestrated a coup to overthrow the democratically elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, and install the dictatorship of the Shah.

  • After that, the CIA trained the SAVAK, the secret police of the dictatorship, that tortured and killed opponents of the regime

  • In 1988, nine years after the Islamic revolution, a US Navy ship fired missiles against a civilian airliner (an Airbus A300) inside the Iranian airspace, killing all 290 passengers and crew aboard, including 66 children

[-] 0 points by Joeschmoe1000 (270) 12 years ago

That plan did not crash. It landed on this funky island that moved around through time and space, and everyone came back to the USA, but weren't all that happy, so they got on another plane and ended up back in time, when the shah was around,

but I haven't seen the rest of the show yet, so I don't know how it ends.

they were all in purgatory until the finale, where they all ended up in a church, dead!

[-] 1 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by BrainC (400) from Austin, TX 12 years ago

LOL

was that really a spoiler for you? purgatory is still just a theory. It was not revealed as a fact. I said they were in purgatory in the beginning. It makes sense.

So does it upset you that they ended up in a church, dead? Is that the spoiler for you?

[-] 0 points by Joeschmoe1000 (270) 12 years ago

I figured they were dead in the first season.....

but say no more please.

[-] 1 points by BrainC (400) from Austin, TX 12 years ago

you really have to watch that final episode and decide what is going on for yourself. What I said is not the whole truth, so dont let what I said influence your perception.

It figures you chuckle-heads would side with your muslim brothers over your own country. Self loathing is a virtue for liberals.

[-] 0 points by UnderstandingIranians (7) 12 years ago

I'm not against my country. I'm telling the truth to the American people, so people can understand the real reason of the so called "hate" of the Iranians against the USA, and can realize that the Iranians are not "just crazy".

The American people has the right to know about the crimes of the CIA, so the people can demand that kind of things never happen again in any place in the world.

[-] 1 points by mvjobless (370) 12 years ago

The list is long, of all the horrible things our US government has done "in the name of our interests". Read Blowback by Chalmers Johnson about Asia, then there's Allende who was murdered in Chile and then we put in the criminal Pinochet. God, the list goes on. We have 600 military installations around the world, why?
