Forum Post: I think it's sickening how people think of others.

I've been on this forum off and on reading threads since this whole movement began. And a certain thread caught my eye, its a thread about a set income that EVERYONE would receive out of taxes that the country collects every year. In my opinion it seems like an idea that would end suffering and suicides across the nation.

Yet... in response to these ideas i read come-backs that make either no sense or they are.. just simply so rude and insulting that it feels like racists talking. I've read comments stating "if you're poor you're lazy and deserve to starve" " if you're poor, you don't deserve to keep your children and they should be taken away and you should be inprisoned"

Also i see responses all the time saying "where would the money come from to support all these deadbeats" Thats just stupid and when i see that i just think to myself that this person has no idea how taxes are handled. Every item in my apartment i was taxed for, the ultities i pay for have taxes included in them, the gas for my car has taxes on them, the food i pay for has taxes on them. I'll pay property taxes, school taxes and just regular taxes on my house when i own one. My car was taxed even my pay is taxed. That amounts to alot of money and i'm just one person.

Where does all that money go to? My roads are still bad and potholed, The school i went to had books from the 70's and 80's... only new stuff was for the football team. We have nice looking courthouses... yet we have houses that are falling apart and people asking for change all the time. And people DIEING of starvation. And people that are afraid to go to the hospital because they don't have the insurance or money to cover it. I just think it's fucked up that people with money suddenly have the power of god and can decide who lives and who dies? We need a basic income we aren't intitled to anything but we also don't deserve to die.

There is a right-wing, fear mongering, reactionary group of people in this country, yes. But, they do not get to tell us all how to think. Some of us have fundamentally opposed ideas and we are just as American as they are and we have just as much of a right to express what we think. I would encourage you to post more often. In my mind, only a troll would tell you to stay away.

Don't let the trolls get to you. They're just trying to keep people from going to these protests, probably because they have some vested interest ($) in stifling any form of financial reform.

My advice is to stop using these forums, since they suck anyway, and do something productive to help the movement instead. Make a sign, poster, leaflet. Go help out at a GA. Talk to friends. Call a Congressman. Do SOMETHING other than wasting your time on these boards.

Until we get mods who will delete and ip-ban the insult trolls, then these forums are useless and a waste of time. We don't even have sticky threads on here! Geez...

You are a nut. You want only discourse with people of your ideology? Go to the huffington post. You want discourse with 99%? quit whining about people who don't think like a drone. Like you.

I don't want discourse with anybody. I want people to get off of their asses and do stuff, not debate with a bunch of scrooges don't want to spend a penny on someone that isn't themselves.

Tiny Tim had it coming! Bah, humbug!

You get income when you have a skill to trade for money. If someone just hands you money it's a form of welfare. If that is the type of state you want you need to convince a majority and vote it into existence.

You've got to expect some resistance from the people that feel they earn their money and don't wish to just hand over more of it so someone else doesn't have to work (that is the popular view of it you have to defeat).

In the end there aren't enough rich people to pay for what we do now. It must start with taxing the rich and corporations but you'll need to convince the middle class that even they are going to need to pay more.

Wiki - Perpetual motion describes hypothetical machines that operate or produce useful work indefinitely and, more generally, hypothetical machines that produce more work or energy than they consume, whether they might operate indefinitely or not.

Even a solar cell can only produce electricity during daylight hours. The post above where everyone would get a salary would be equal to perpetual motion. At some point, each month or each year, more would be spent than generated. Suddenly there would be none. We need to create more than less.

The biggest issue of the post above was about medical and insurance and the rich having more power than GOD. Here is my reply. 40% or so of America are liberal democrats. Out of those are MANY very rich democrats. Out of those are medical doctors. My question to you, why are there no medical centers built with rich democrat money with services provided by rich democrat doctors that offer medical services for nearly FREE? WHY? Rich democrats could put money into building pharmacutical companies that make drugs that could be given way? WHY NOT? Why is it always the mean ole rich republicans that are blamed for people dying of starvation or lack of medical care? WHY? You would not need a basic income that you feel entitled to keep from dying? Solve your own, as you said in your post, "fu**-UP system.
