Saad Hariri: Friend of Hamas Supporter of Hagel

Breitbart News Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro reported Thursday that Senate sources believe that one reason Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel has not submitted requested financial disclosures is that one of his funders is called "Friends of Hamas." While the White House refused to confirm or deny the report, there are certainly friends of Hamas among Hagel's supporters, including former Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri.

That sounds like it might be a bit off. I'd check with GirlFriday, she seems to be up on Lebanese politics.

I would point out that his father was the one assassinated, and in 2011 Hamas withdrew support from his government, which then collapsed.

The likely explanation may be Hagel's remarks regarding certain lobbyists . . . although I must say I don't see why that in itself should be an issue, one lobbyist is every bit as good as another . . .

Unless of course it happens to be Green Peace . . . .
