Show up on Wall Street dressed for an interview, carrying your resume. If they create as many jobs as they say they do, SOMEONE should get hired. If not...well then the big cheeses on Wall Street are a bunch of liars.

That is most definitely NOT what this is about. I gave up on offering jobs here because nobody even bothered to apply, and many, many, many people insulted me on a personal level for even offering. I was offering free on-the-job training for high-skill, high-paying, entry-level jobs that do not require a college diploma. I started offering on October 8 when I first found this forum, and I continued for weeks. I had one single person who inquired seriously about it, who never actually applied. Maybe he will, and he's still welcome to follow through on it, but I'm done with attempting any recruiting here now. My impression now is that the people who are attracted to this movement are people who have generally been unsuccessful in the job market even when presented with opportunities, and that's why they feel like it's worth their time to spend all day protesting instead of learning new skills and looking for jobs. Because there is no big loss, because they don't have much potential anyway.

offering a job that doesn't require a college diploma means the job doesn't pay enough to pay the mortgage. those types of jobs will not help the economy. we have to restore the housing market.

The jobs that I'm trying to fill pay more than the average American hourly wage of $33/hr. I repeated that over and over here for weeks and didn't get a single applicant.

Unless you're a Ruby on Rails developer or you're willing to learn new skills, you can't apply for these jobs. I would repeat all of the stuff that I posted for weeks about where you can go for free training to qualify, but I know that it's futile. Nobody here is interested because of the "learning new skills" part. This is a group of people who have been demographically pre-selected for ineffectiveness. I realize now what a mistake it was to even attempt recruiting here. No applicants, lots of insults, a big waste of time overall.

a job that cant be applied for is by definition not a job . it is something else.

I'm desperate to find applicants but I've given up on trying to find them here. This movement is not about finding jobs, it's about expressing discontentment. And I've realized that people who are willing to spend weeks of their time expressing their discontentment are not good candidates for employment.

lol but the ones that spend weeks of thier time expressing the nuances of thier life on facebook and youtube are?

No, I don't need people who can use Facebook. I need people who can build a site like Facebook. Or who are capable of learning the necessary skills. Recruiting here is a waste of time because people who are that capable have no interest in a movement that's all about blaming other people. I was originally imagining that I could find some prospects among the over-educated, under-employed people here who are protesting unemployment, but they treated my job offers as an irritating distraction from their business of protesting their inability to find jobs. I realized that this is a group of people who are demographically pre-selected toward failure.
