Forum Post: I am new to Occupy. This is a great Forum but why are there so many trolls?

I can not believe what I am reading,it is so negative.
The trolls are obnoxious, but if you can ignore them or enjoy arguing with them, it's not so bad. There are also some brilliant and kind people on here. :)
Someone replied this response to me.. can't find the original but here's the text, in response to my saying the trolls have turned into "crypto trolls" since the start of this forum:

Yes, and [the trolls] will get even more "crypto" as time goes on because most rational people don't ---and can't--- subscribe to their ideology of dominance and suppression. Therefore they must deceive people in order to accomplish their aims. Either that or force their aims by aggression. They try both. They try every tactic in the book. When they can't convince people that poor people chose to be poor, for example, or that they should be grateful for being robbed for the rich, they will try to shame and mock them. When this tactic doesn't fly with a big enough group of haters to achieve their objectives, they will eventually realize they can't win a war of words in which any shred of their agenda is apparent. So then they will lie outright. They'll take all the knowledge they've gleaned about what the people will & won't believe, what the people do and do not want, and they'll pretend 100% to be one of them until they can pull the switcheroo. The way to tell this is to simply watch how the message changes over time, and keep tracing it back through the other messages that have been used to test our stupidity and latent hate. Keep watch on the people changing their message all the time and look back at the kinds of policies they have advocated all along. of course, we can't do this here because users will simply change their names. But I'm talking about the broader picture out there in the world. Always bear in mind that the right-wing agenda is to be and to stay dominant, and to do this they need others to dominate, so filter anything and everything they say through the question of why and how it fits that basic agenda.

I like dissenting voices. Some challenge me and others are just face palmingly dumb.If you think something is bad give me examples something real ,not abstract things.
The trolls would just jump in the cage with them because of their need to complain to people who don't listen to them!! My question is "why do they have that need"? Why not go complain to some other complainers who like to complain about the same things they do? At least that way they get SOME support for what they think. MAYBE! HA HA
This is the Internet. Trolls are everywhere. If you want a serious discussion with well formed arguments, you should attend a university seminar.

there are a lot of trolls on here because this movement has turned into a bunch of complainers that aren't doing anything. The problem with having a 99% group is that everyone is going to have different opinions and different agendas. People will disagree and then nothing will happen of the whole movement. Trolls are on here because they see that everyone is just mindlessly walking in circles in a movement that has no end in sight and no direction to go. People protest big business like they are costing the jobs, the money, the people's frustrations. Its almost as if no one wants to step up and say "Here is the problem, this is what is causing it, now let's go fix it". If I wanted to piss people off I would know right where to come to...right where 3/4's of the people have no idea what the hell they are even protesting anymore.
you don't want to help fix anything. you and the trolls are the complainers and you are part of the problem. if you were really interested in fixing the problem, you'd be over at the tea party site discussing action. Go to the main page of this site. That's where you will find the action part of this movement and then go to the protest sites and to the other actions taking place all over this country - you will see the action. man, you must be blind to say such a STOOPID thing. no action - please. you're an idiot.
