Dan Rather reports that Hugo Chavez has "a couple of months at most." http://www.hd.net/programs/danrather/
Of course the story is unsubstantiated. Rather explains, " This is a person whom your reporter has very good reason to trust, but you should know that there is only one source so far; no other immediate confirmation."

Whatever Americans think of Chavez and the Bolivarian Revolution, he has been extremely popular among the poor in Venezuela. Even now, ill and maligned at home and abroad by the United States and its allies, he seems certain to win re-election...if he lives that long.
