How do you get the corruption out of politics?

This is the most important question and the easiest to solve. We need a new tax system where government does not decide WHO gets tax dollars. The role of government is to defend and serve the general welfare of the people.

This responsibility does not imply that government should pick and choose winners and losers. Therefore - the role of the government should be limited. The government can decide which public sector deserves what percentage of the taxes. The government representatives can also determine recommendations for the tax money.

But it is the people who should decide how their tax dollars are spent. This form of welfare avoids corruption by allowing the taxpayers to determine how their tax dollars will be spent. The government determines what percentage of the tax payer's dollars will go toward education. And the tax payer decides what education systems they will fund.

People can give their tax dollars to a representative of their choice if they want. This representative can be different than the government representative. Person-A might elect to give their favorite scientist power in determining how person-A's tax money will be spent... in part or full. Or person-A might want to make the final decision.

I think people who do not care about the delegation of their tax dollars should not be able to vote for government representatives.

This plan is a compromise with free market advocates. This plan recognizes that capitalist systems can neglect the poor. And government has a purpose in providing for the welfare of people. But government representatives should not be able to decide WHO gets the tax dollars. When government representatives are allowed to make such powerful decisions - corruption is certain.

So let us DEMAND that the tax payer be better represented. Let us STRENGTHEN our republic!

as a teacher, it would be fantastic to decided how those tax dollars would be spent within the school system...and to go further familes can support the school system they want much like a charter school voucher.

It's a wonderful thought, but I can't see it working as a practical matter. Also seeing that those who have controlled all the wealth are the only ones able to pay taxes, control would remain with the top 1%. Your anti-tax message marks you as an infiltrator.

How is my post "anti-tax"?

It isn't overtly anti-tax, but it shifts the conversation to the misuse of taxes which is a tea party theme. That's a red flag for me. The real problem is how wealth has been redirected to the top 1%. It's not about "taxpayers" not being represented, but the majority of Americans not being represented.

Americans aren't represented - even the middle class who pay thousands of dollars in taxes. And it is because our politicians are bought. I say that we remove the incentive for people to buy politicians... that is what I am talking about.
