Forum Post: How to Explain Loss of Capital of the Middle Classes...?

I have been a spectator (and generally a supporter) of the Occupy movement since persons camped out at the plaza in the belly of the beast. And yet, I must admit, society is complex and I struggle to understand exactly what has caused the problems Occupiers have raised consciousness about.

This post is limited in scope, I admit, and the scope is limited based upon my curiosity's whim about a particular issue. I am concerned with the base of occupiers who are within the middle class and are property owners who have discontents because of the loss of those properties' values.

This group came to mind because I saw a few posts in the forums by persons who appeared to fit the description above.

I want to hear your stories. Were your properties that lost values in the cities or in the suburbs or levittowns of America? What is your occupation?

Has the middle class systematically been robbed of capital in other ways besides this? Have certain specific policies made taking out equity loans harder?

Tell your story and what policies or other events you believe explain it!

The cause of the problem ( with capitalism ) : unfettered profits. This has has stripped the economy of its life blood. A cap on sales profit is the only cure.

forget.. property... that is a minor casualty ... we lost our businesses... our jobs.... and not no simple laboring jobs... our manufacturing ... the backbone of the economy... and now they are trying to take our freedoms, our justice systems... our children's future.... and our country.... and all to greed, theft & corruption...

I dont think you are going to find many property owners at Occupy. Have you actually visited there?
