In 1969 the average CEO made 40 times what the average worker made, now they make over 400 times what the average worker makes. I pledge that as a Business Owner or CEO or Executive I will never take more than 40 times what my average employee wages are and I believe that there should be a law that prohibits any 1 individual from making more than 40 times what the average wages are in the organization they are in. I can still make as much as I want as the company prospers and along with it, I will take my employees up with me by following this pledge.

This would be a great start but no Fortune 500 CEO would ever sign it. Greed slams through logic and morality like a runaway train. No Fortune 500 CEO would ever put the good of their industry or the good of society before their own incredible greed. Never. They would rather watch the world burn. That's what greed does to the human brain. Great post though.

Thank You Mcc.....unfortunately I think you are right about how Greed has taken over and that no CEO would sign on to a pledge like this. I will say that as a business owner myself, I could never take over 40 times the average wages in my company without feeling like a heel. Of course I have a small business where I see and work with my people everyday so they aren't just numbers and tools to me like so often employees are viewed in corporate America by those on the top floor. Thanks again for your kind comments!!!
