Hello, we have recently created a site focused on presenting the best ideas for change in different categories such as Banks, Gun Control, Poverty, Healthcare, etc. Our site collects ideas from the world (research papers, articles, think tanks) and our community to make the information easily accessible for people. We are interested in easily showing what are the best ways for the world and our government to change and would like to incorporate petitions/advocacy into the site soon. I would take your idea of committee members being appointed by a nonpartisan staff (there is no such thing as that in DC) a step further.
Let the people vote them in. Lets look at their backgrounds, their companies, and then decide if for instance the head of the FDA should be someone who was a Monsanto executive.
Because thats what we just got.
Of course, our recent elections show that people arent paying enough attention anyways, so who knows...
