Since those in power seem so bent on not letting free speech be free maybe a new approach is necessary. How about OccupyWallStreet Flash mobs? Keep it mobile and quick. Peacefully occupy an area for an hour or so. Maybe somewhere that disrupts things but causes no injuries. When the police show up, move on. It will drive them crazy!

This is a great idea, but it will come under attack with increased surveillance and police monitoring of wireless communication. They will seek to identify the leaders, whom are telling people where to go. Have the lawyers guild briefed on this, and talk to others who have tried flash activisim. Some ended up in court. Virtually any activisim that seeks to disrupt the status quo is, is seen as a threat, and targeted for takedown. Still this is a worthy strategy especially for winter and those who will never occupy but want to join OWS.

I wouldn't stop using the occupations, but have both these actions ongoing at the same time. Expect the 1% to send in agent provocateurs and have a strategy to contain them if possible. There is no easy painless way to resist tyranny and injustice, the trick is to endure.

A friendly amendment to the proposal? I would suggest a police scanner. That way, as soon as the call goes out, the flash mob may disperse - on cue - thereby isolating the frustration to Wall Street and short circuiting their opportunity to enlist the support of unionized workers to their side, as well as saving the city certain expenses.

It will also remove any opportunity for the minions of Wall Street to infiltrate the flashmob and create a ruckus with the police, because before they even get there you guys are gone. It won't take long and they won't even respond at all.
