[-] 1 points by MechanicalMoney (208) 14 years ago

Girls make the world go 'round.

If we get the beautiful girls we're home free.

[-] 1 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

for many, the whole point of money is girls after all.

[-] 1 points by CarryTheGripsUpToTheAttic (133) 14 years ago

There's wisdom in this.

What do the women of OWS think of, say, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

If women boycott the psychopaths, that would seem to be helpful.

i like this.
women, how do you feel about not dating rich wallst bankers?

To be fair... This is much better then the Hot Chicks of the Tea Party pictures they posted a few years ago. To many women with blue hair and Hoverounds. I just wasn't diggin it.

Yes, their voices are heard, but the message propagated by by the video is still "Women, be SEXY!"

[-] 0 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

We don't need a message just yet necessarily, anything to get more people involved & curious in the movement.

[-] 0 points by brochomsky (208) from Brooklyn, NY 14 years ago

Sorry, I was commenting on the inherent sexism of a video entitled "Hot Chicks of Occupy Wall St."

[-] 1 points by MechanicalMoney (208) 14 years ago

Pity, because i think they are overmore than sexy hot "chicks", chickens are not in the protest and brandishing signs, it's a way to imply that women are less policaly engage than men, and i think it's false.

[-] 1 points by brochomsky (208) from Brooklyn, NY 14 years ago

Huh? I don't understand what you are trying to say.

[-] 1 points by MechanicalMoney (208) 14 years ago

Yep i know metaphor between two culture is not a good way to be understand ... it's was about real chicken , they can't protesting beacuse of animal, but women aren't animal that's all...i just need some sleep...

[-] 0 points by MJMorrow (419) 14 years ago

There are hot women working for Goldmann Sachs too...your point? So will you support Capitalism and high paying job creation, thus abandoning the radical Marxist Socialist protestors, if an alternative movement posts pictures of super sexy I-Bankers? [Contemplates to self about how to explain the need for swimsuit pictures, as a means for advancing job creation, from I-Banker friend Alicia...]

More stolen music, without even a credit. Yes, dead composers' estates own copyrights too.

[-] -2 points by QuietDay (59) 14 years ago

Did the author of this website get the consent of these women to have their images plastered all over the Internet to be objectified and sexualised for the viewing pleasure of 'freedom loving' men everywhere?

Whose freedoms are we talking about here? Women have the right to publicly protest without being turned into free 'entertainment' by men. I think this predatory, entitled attitude is part of the problem. If you want to change the world, start by looking at how you yourself perpetuate and benefit from inequality.

[-] 2 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

As I understand it, these images can be classified as "editorial," and therefore don't need permission. Similar to how paparazzi have the right to photograph celebrities and post them on the internets.

[-] 0 points by QuietDay (59) 14 years ago

Regardless, a progressive movement that's all about human rights and 'freedom and equality for all' should respect women's right to freely assemble and protest without being reduced to fodder for men's entertainment without their consent.

[-] 0 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

still, at least it's fodder for a greater cause. the pictures may lure more people to participate in the movement, as people begin to realize we're not just a bunch of dirty homeless bums. sex sells.

[-] 0 points by QuietDay (59) 14 years ago

Oh and 'sex sells'? I thought we were against corporations and the commodification of absolutely everything.

[-] -1 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

As I understand it, we're against wealth inequality, corruption, financial greed, and generally the idea of democracy over raw capitalism. Sex and the commodification of it is a totally separate issue.

[-] 0 points by QuietDay (59) 14 years ago

So lets put women's interests last in the name of freedom? Wow, I'm getting all nostalgic. It's just like the 60's all over again.

[-] 2 points by technoviking (484) 14 years ago

we're free to share images of OWS

[-] 1 points by ataraxia (32) from New York, NY 14 years ago

haha I'm singing the Age of the Aquarius now :)

Did you watch the video? It is actually quite empowering and respectful towards women. Albeit, the title is all wrong. "Hot Women" is not the right term. Perhaps, change the title simply to "The Women of Wall Street". And then show images of strong women on BOTH sides of the fence.

[-] 1 points by Mooks (1985) 14 years ago

You mean because they weren't all that hot?

[-] 0 points by patriot4change (818) 14 years ago

I think "hot" is the wrong term. I saw intelligent, articulate women of all ages rolling up their sleeves and contributing to something they believe in. Is that attractive? I think anyone who is passionate about what they believe in is "attractive"... "enlightened"... "glowing"... whatever you want to call it. If that means "hot" in your vocabulary... then use whatever words connect with you. he he

[-] 0 points by QuietDay (59) 14 years ago

I'm a woman and I don't find it respectful or empowering. I do find it deeply ironic however that women are reduced to sexual objects without their consent even as they're fighting for their human right not to be exploited, abused and commodified by the powerful.

[-] 1 points by patriot4change (818) 14 years ago

I found the content of the video to be quite tasteful... and showed the women in a 'positive' light. But, then again, I'm a guy... what the hell do I know. he he

[-] 0 points by precipice (220) 14 years ago

These women should be proud that they are helping a noble cause.

[-] 1 points by MechanicalMoney (208) 14 years ago

Better way to consider whats they are fighting for, instead of focus on pretty faces ?...

They are already beautifull in fact, women are the futur of mankind.
