My grandpa said during the depression rabbits were called "Hoovers Hogs" because so many people relied on them to survive. Rabbits breed often and have many babies each cycle. They are low cost and low maintenance and a good source of protein.
There are many people on here who are attacking FDR. I would remind them that FDR got America eating bacon again.
