THE RISING: Why we're not afraid

They told us to stay, inside the lines. But now we are not afraid.

They implied they'd deftly, take us down. But now we are not afraid.

The stuff they sold us DID NOT quench our thirst. But now we are not afraid.

We have endured, so fear, it drops. Now we are not afraid.

Our hearts are open, in a whole new way. Now that we're not afraid.

Our resolve is STRONG and our head's held high. Now we are not afraid.

We now know the fear, was just in our minds.  WE ARE NOT AFRAID!

We've escaped that prison and found our smile. WE ARE NOT AFRAID!

The sun warms our face, and we, rise up. So now we are not afraid.

A new day's dawning, and we rise with love, because we are not afraid.

If Occupy Wall Street wants to get them where they will feel the pain start doing things that will get them where it matters.

  1. Have all Occupy Wall Street people file for unemployment...If unemployment shows a true number. They don't want to see those numbers go up, because their profits go down. Major increase in unemployment is bad for Wall Street and government. Wall Street will see their profits fall and know America is worse off than they make it out to be.

  2. Stop spending money on big names products and big name stores. Buy off brands and from small mom and pop shops. Wall Street lives off the big names Wal-Mart, Pepsi, Coco Cola, INTEL, AT&T, Ford, etc...

  3. Have large numbers of Occupy Wall Street walk into big name banks that received bail outs and take up their time by setting up savings accounts and then closing them days later...this will cost them money and they will feel the pain.

  4. Spend time planning on direct attacks on Wall Street that are all legal and will allow you to get the point across right where Wall Street does not want it. Think of tactical measures to beat them at their own game.

Right now Occupy Wall Street is looked at as a bunch of people who don't have a job and don't care anymore. Show them all you do have a reason and you can prove your point playing the same game they do.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s top secretary urged Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings on Friday to instruct city police to remove Occupy Albany protesters from a downtown park near the state Capitol if they tried to remain there after an 11 p.m curfew.

A person familiar with the matter said Cuomo’s secretary, Larry Schwartz, called Jennings late Friday morning and said that State Police, who control half of the park that is partly owned by the state of New York and city of Albany, would remove any protesters who did not comply with a curfew. The position of the governor’s office was in contrast to an earlier plan by Albany police to leave the protesters alone if they were peaceful, even if they stayed overnight.

Occupy Albany demonstrators began arriving at Lafayette/Academy park around noon. Half of the space is state land, the rest city property.

To paraphrase Breyton Breytonbach, whether we win or whether we die, freedom will rise like the sun through the morning clouds.

The 99% are reaching critical mass and soon we'll be making DECISIONS from a position of unified power rather than DEMANDS from a position of divided weakness.
