Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone famously described Goldman Sachs as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money." I think we need to give Goldman a real PR nightmare with this job application thing. We should line up outside their corporate headquarters in NYC (only 19 minute walk from Zuccotti Park and stand there with résumés, asking for interviews. Reporter: "Why are you here sith thousands of protesters demonstrating outside of Goldman Sachs?"
Interviewee: "protesting Goldman?" I'm looking for a job. Goldman engaged in practices that resulted in the loss of countless jobs in recent years while profiting heavily and giving huge bonuses to its employees. Goldman took a bunch of jobs from our economy. We just want them back. They must be here somewhere so we're here in line with our resumes....waiting patiently to talk to them about the jobs. (Hands resume to reporter....
Resume says. "reasons I think I'm qualified to work here: 1) I would sell my own mother or buy yours to make a buck. 2) I'm not embarrassed to get huge bonuses for shuffling paper while millions of Americans are out of work and suffering. Etc.

in the new Ron Suskind book ("Confidence Men") there's an ultra-revealing bit about how Goldman knew the mortgage market was going down in 2004 -- and how in 2006 they massively inflated the market so they could make more and more money betting against it.
It may or may not have been illegal. But it was clearly immoral.
Once more Americans realize what Goldman has done at their expense, they'll want to hold this firm accountable. Let's help hasten this accountability moment by shining a light on Goldman with a massive sit in we call a "job in".
