Forum Post: Here are some demands. End the wars. Remove everyone from Congress. Investigate the 2008 financial-collapse-causing criminals. Throw them in jail. Seize their assets. Reinvest it into job creating ventures. Re-enact the Glass-Steagall Act.

Also, cap corporate political donations. Consider federally funded elections. I'm just getting started.

The approval ratings for congress are at 9% - an all time low in American history. Not even one out of ten people approve of them. If you lived on a stranded island with 10 people, and not even one of them approved of the leader, why do you still allow them to make the rules that govern your life? Is that what we call serving the majority? You must remove the corrupt leaders from power. To all the naysayers out there, I have a link for you:

http://www.movie2k.to/movie-525565-Inside-Job-film.html

This link will bring you to a documentary called "Inside Job" that won an Oscar for best documentary earlier this year. It will explain, in full detail, exactly how our government and financial institutions deliberately destroyed the global economy in pursuit of profits for themselves. Do not comment on this post until you've watched Inside Job all the way through if you want to have a legitimate debate with me. Otherwise you will not get a deserving response. It is virtually impossible to defend Wall Street after seeing this. Everyone should watch it.

EVERY American should watch "Inside Job". I would even go so far as to say it is a sacred duty.

[-] 3 points by 1776alloveragain (67) 12 years ago

YES! Preach it brother. Everyone outside of America too. This corruption happens in financial markets everywhere - as they show in the beginning of the film in Iceland.

[-] 2 points by TIOUAISE (2526) 12 years ago

YOU are a gifted mind-reader. I wanted to add precisely that : people ALL OVER THE WORLD should see the movie, as this kind of corruption is ineed a universal problem.

BTW, I just read about a recent poll in CHINA where 96% - that's right, ninety-six percent! - of respondents expressed frustration about the "ultra-rich" in their country...

OCCUPY CHINA may not be too far away!!!!

GR8 post and link to an excellent film which is essential viewing for all who haven't seen it and especially the rabid, reactionary right-wing, whose confusion between 'arse & elbow', underpins so much of their ignorant ramblings.

If you seize the assets, sell them and use the proceeds to fund OWS inc (see my post on OWS inc.).

[-] -1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

Extreme, but sure as hell would make the point, though.

[-] 3 points by 1776alloveragain (67) 12 years ago

Is it extreme? Watch the movie. I'm more of the belief that the 5 top execs of Lehman Brothers who stole a combined $1 billion in the years leading up to the collapse were extreme. This is simply justice.

Plus, scroll through the comments on this post. Notice it's almost completely void of naysayers/anti-OWS arguers/trolls. That is because there is no logical argument against these demands once you see the film Inside Job. It's that good.

Cab u add a unicorn for me on this unrealistic Christmas list ...

"Do not comment on this post until you've watched Inside Job all the way through if you want to have a legitimate debate with me."

I will not debate with you until you see the film.

Some liberal garbage ... Think I will pass ... I work in the financial services sector ... Know how it all went down.

[-] 1 points by shadz66 (19985) 12 years ago

So 'M69' you "know how it all went down" do you ? I really doubt that you even know the difference between your own arse & elbow .. let alone anything about the 2008 Global Financial Grand Larceny Heist . You are at most, a desperate minion who has overdosed on The Wannabe-KoolAid. Perhaps you ought to find a new position ...

[-] 0 points by Monkeyboy69 (150) 12 years ago

"grand Larceny". Pls stop

Enough with conspiracy theories

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 12 years ago

Perhaps, for example - you should do a little research into the things said by Hank Paulson (previously Chairman & CEO of Goldman-Sucks) to Congress in order to get them to cough-up The 2008 Financial Bail Out, such that Private Debts of Private Banks, were transferred to The 99% & 'socialised' and many millions became subject to austerity & cuts. All this occurring without a 'Perp Walk', Trials or Exemplary Prison Sentences !!

"Conspiracy Theory" is a phrase used by simpletons to try to stymie and stifle legitimate discourse and investigation into situations and circumstances which impact us all.

Watch The Film ... Then Opine ..

et adversus solem ne loquitor .

[-] 1 points by 1776alloveragain (67) 12 years ago

shadz66 don't waste your time with M69. He obviously isn't interested in being educated and just wants to antagonize. That's why I simply quoted the OP once and said:

"Do not comment on this post until you've watched Inside Job all the way through if you want to have a legitimate debate with me."

I will not debate with you until you see the film.

Until he watches that film he is proving his opinion has no merit. So I responded once, and not again unless he has something useful to say.

@ 1776a-o-a : Good point & well made ! ;-)
