Wow. "Bizarre" doesn't even begin to describe this, James. In what kind of crazy world does a p.o.s. like "stop-and-frisk" Bloomberg get a knighthood, honorary or otherwise, from the British 'Empire?'

Oh, I guess the same Bizarro World that would give "drone-strike" Obomber a Nobel Peace prize. Welcome to the 21st century, where knighthoods and the Nobel Prize are equally relevant .

I like your posts, jpe. Keep 'em coming.

Oh, and just out of curiosity I had to look Bloomberg up on Wikipedia to see how a born-and-bred American can get knighted and found this interesting:

"A Democrat before seeking elective office, Bloomberg switched his party registration in 2001 to run for mayor as a Republican. He defeated opponent Mark Green (a Democrat) in a close election held just weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Bloomberg won a second term in 2005 and left the Republican Party two years later . . . and was elected to his third term in 2009 as an independent candidate on the Republican ballot line."

A Democrat, then a Republican defeating a Democrat, then an Independent on the "Republican ballot line." Wow, talk about the Theater of Politics, lol.
