I dunno - what little I've seen he certainly doesn't come across as all that competent - he may be competent, but he didn't come across that way in the brief spot that aired on the news.

Yeah...shoulda stuck to his guns more i thought. I personally thought his old comments were pretty much spot on....but such is politics-can't (or won't) tell the truth.

He should have just answered yes. It was the most dangerous foreign policy blunder since vietnam.

Also the first time I've seen a politician admit to wrong voting.

Every person who voted for the Iraq war needs to be out of the government. No more McCains! No more Hagels! No more establishment hacks funded by banks and corporations.

If he truly acknowledged the atrocity and mistake the Iraq war was, he would have resigned for his failures and mistakes. And that goes for all of the people who voted for it or even just funded it.

Massive levels of civilian death is not an acceptable mistake.
