We need to clean up the last 100 years of careless misstreating of this planet. We live in a world today where science can give us a sythesized form of gas to use in automobiles. So why isn't there? It's time the oil elites step down leave the table and count there chips from disflowering our planet. Roosevelt knew the importance of thinking in the future and its time we all thought more like him. A man who wasn't afraid to say hey I'm gonna die some day it would be nice if the future was taken care of.
Our tax dollars that we pay the government and the government pays Dept of Agriculture, Dept of Energy, Dept of Defense, NASA, and all the other Departments under government and they in turn fund Microbial Genome Project in the billions of our tax dollars.
What if the amount of money lost per year due to tax exemption of religion (especially scientology) was removed and applied to the scientific field instead? I would rather prop up an industry that can provide some sort of future compared to ancient monoliths which offer little but false hope.
I'm talking about a world where science made human life better. Not a world where science makes the rich richer
I know, I was thinking more of a means to an end. A world where science has the resources (and money) to make the world better via its discoveries and inventions. What would have become of NASA had we put more money in it over the past three decades? Could we have been mining the asteroid field right now? Colonising the moon? What would have done for our economies on Earth? What would it have done for ourselves?
Further note scientist should get what ever amount of funding they want! Science and knowledge is the answer to all problems.
