Forum Post: Google - a threat to humanity?

Top intelligence and security personnel now warn that, not only the use of Gmail accounts but even the Google search engine including derivative engines like AOL Search and others can place users in quite real danger.

All information passing through Google, including use of Google Voice, Google Groups, Gmail, Google Search, Google Talk and every other corporate platform is gleaned, not just for intelligence but subjected to sophisticated algorithms.

As with most large corporations, Google is evil. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like they want to take over the world.

If it makes you feel any better, it's not just you that thinks that.

Interesting article. It makes me wonder what Google ex-CEO Eric Schmidt was really doing during his recent visit to N. Korea.

[-] 3 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

Any guesses?

[-] 3 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

None whatsoever. In fact I just heard about that visit earlier today and didn't give it any thought until you posted this. What about you, any thoughts?

I also thought this quote was rather interesting:

"Additionally, Google has been proven to accept payment for suppressing searches of news stories clients find embarrassing."

It pretty much confirms the claim that Google is involved in censorship, not that confirmation was really needed. There's been at least a dozen times in recent months that I've Googled a particular subject, only to get the dreaded "404" message. But when I plug the exact same search criteria into Giburu, I get hits every single time.

Generally speaking, I believe that US activities directed towards North Korea are part of a process of encircling China, with the intention of eventually destroying it (uh oh!).

However, I don't know anything about this Schmidt that you mentioned.

When I used to live in Argentina, I used google pay per click advertising to promote an English school that I had there. At one point, google shut down my account to do a thorough investigation of my website, which was quite a surprise to both me and the advertising agency that I was using.

It makes me wonder if they had been monitoring my web searches, classified me as an enemy, and were concerned about me using their service to promote information that would be contrary to their interests.

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Hmmm, interesting story about your Google experience in Argentina. I wonder what that was about? Probably, as you say, related to some of your web searches.

I don't really know anything about Schmidt either, other than he was CEO at one time. Oh, and that he's a member of the Bildeberg's and chairman of the New America Foundation think tank.

[-] 3 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

Oh, just a member of the Bilderbergs eh? Sounds like nothing to worry about.

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Heheheh, yeah, nothing to see here, folks. Move along!

I thought I'd heard something mentioned recently about the New America Foundation too, but don't remember exactly what it was. But if so, I'm sure it wasn't anything good because it was either on one of shooz's ALEC posts or possibly that link to the Powell Memo from middleaged. Either way it was globalist and not in the interests of you or me.

Have you ever heard of Scroogle. I remember a young lady in Occupy recommending that site in late 2011,

It seems that Google helped put them out of businsess in Feb of 2012

Never heard of them until now. I just checked their Wikipedia page. Pretty interesting.

[-] 1 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

She strongly suggested to me that i use Scroogle. It only lasted a few more months before shutting down though

I don't know much about it but I have Giburu bookmarked as an alternative to Google. It claims to be an "anonymous search engine," but like I say, I don't really know. But as I stated above, it does give results when Google doesn't, so that counts for something, I think. I hate censorship.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

I agree, censorship has no place for people like us trying to have a peaceful revolution. ;-)

I'm a bit concerned that THEY might get my pasta salad recipe that i made for the OTS/Rolling Jubille event..lol

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Yeah, with all we have planned for the eventual overthrow of the government, you certainly can't let them get a hold of that 'secret' recipe at this stage of the game. It'd ruin the whole scheme!

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

Right g, but let's not forget the adjective PEACEFUL before OOTG

~Odin~

[-] 3 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Peaceful, my friend. Always peaceful. Besides, violence is so . . . . painful. ;-)

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

OK, we're in agreement.......and yes being the victim or perpetrator of "violence" can be very "painful" on either the body or the mind

~Odin~

[-] 3 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

I was just kidding about the "overthrow of the government" part. I figured you'd catch it. Guess I should of used a smiley. ;-)

And definitely true statement; victim or perp, mind and body.

My sense of humor isn't lacking, but sometimes especially after trying to write a thoughtful comment, I don't pick it up right away

We do have to be a bit careful how we use humor here tho, I think as anything that could be taken literally, might well be

My general rule of thumb is, if you wouldn't say it in front of HS at the airport, it's not a good idea to say it here

Google. Offshoring billions in profits, cooperating with govt snooping, and open entrée on Pennsylvania Ave. Can it get any more evil?

[-] 2 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

There's no doubt they are directly linked to that town of intelligence they are building in the middle of nowhere.

[-] 3 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

What town in the middle of nowhere are you referring to?

[-] 3 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

I think he's talking about the NSA site that's being built in Utah:

[-] 3 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

Interesting. Mormons are commonly selected as intelligence agents. I wonder if there is any connection.

[-] 3 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 11 years ago

Yeah, Utah seems like an odd spot for building something like that. I'd be curious to know more.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

There is a large per centage of Mormons in the criminal justice field too

And they have enormous political power too

~Odin~

[-] 3 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

So I've heard. But by the way, what is the significance of ending a post with the name "Odin"?

[-] 1 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

Years ago the Public Safetey Director in Vermont (in charge of the state police) was a Mormon, and in Alaska where my daughter is a public defender, many of the prosecutors are Mormon

I came on here as Viking or something like that in late October 2011, and switched to Odin soon after simply because I did not like the former moniker. Then I was banned multiple times for my strong anit-partisan beliefs which ironically were more in line with OWS, but not the partisan moderators we had here at the time. On a side note, I have been thanked by a forum adminstrator for "sticking it out."
