Many Americans choose to work as English teachers in China. However, the import/export of Chinese students and English teachers is a corrupt industry on many levels - not least of all that many of these schools are business ventures backed by Goldman Sachs. I am interested in discussing how banking and investment may be involved in the education industry in other countries as well as the problems involved when education is treated as a profitable and multinational industry.
