Forum Post: Global Banks Are The Financial Services Wing Of The Drug Cartels

Global banks are the financial services wing of the drug cartels “…The stark truth is that the cartels’ best friends are those people in pin-stripes who, after a rap on the knuckles, return to their golf in Connecticut and drinks parties in Holland Park. The notion of any dichotomy between the global criminal economy and the “legal” one is fantasy. Worse, it is a lie. They are seamless, mutually interdependent – one and the same…” As HSBC executives apologize to the US Senate for laundering drugs money, the fact is that nothing changes. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jul/21/drug-cartels-banks-hsbc-money-laundering

Corruption is our largest industry. It is also our largest export. Yes, people in the corruption business everywhere look up to us. We are so much more admired for corruption than any other attribute. If you want to learn how to do it right, come to the US. Banking and finance, military and defense contracting, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and heath care providers, food, entertainment, education, hi tech, energy, transportation. You name it and we have corrupted it. And not just a little, or around the margins. We have corrupted them all to the core.

We are the envy of the world, as we have always wanted to be. We are exceptional to the point of being unique. American Exceptionalism.

We set a standard for global corruption that others can only dream about. Anything we want to make a success of, we just start the appearance of a war against it and it will take off like a rocket. War on Drugs, more drugs, War on Terror, more terror, War on Poverty, more poverty. Get it? Brilliant.

What a country.

We just cover the corruption with some red and blue dyed cloth and it magically becomes invisible. At least to everyone who wears the red and blue tinted glasses.

I'll bet that if you started a lobbying firm called Corruption Unlimited you would get clients. I was offered a partnership in a lobbying firm that was acquired by the one that protected the tobacco industry using every despicable trick in the books (actually they aren't in the books). I could have been rich with big holes in my conscience and my stomach.

I am comfortable with my choice (they work for the Oil and Gas Industries now.)

I get your point but actually the guy who became CEO worked for me at one time. We weren't doing that sort of stuff, though.
