I'm not sure if many of you have gotten the chance to read the recent CNN article on Gerry Mandering and how our votes don't matter, but it's pretty alarming! http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/18/politics/gerrymandering/index.html It seems as though most of these politicians don't have to worry that much about their seats. This gives them a sense of safety and they are less likely to listen to the people. I believe that this is one area in which the people can take power back into our own hands. I believe we should try and fight to make the district line drawing process non-partisan. We should make these politicians actually work for their positions and therefore make them give more weight to what the people are saying. I believe that this is important enough that people should be behind it. We should let our votes count again!

I just think it might be useful getting active and behind something that could bring about change rather than waiting for others to create the change for us.
