" BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IF the PETITION FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES approved by the 876 Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY in consultation with the NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE, is not redressed and acted upon within a reasonable time and to the satisfaction of the Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, said Delegates shall reconvene to organize a new grassroots campaign to elect independent candidates to Congress who will publicly PLEDGE to redress each and every grievance contained in the ratified PETITION FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES. These independent candidates for the United States House and Senate will seek election in every available Congressional seat in the mid-term election of 2014 and again in 2016 and again in 2018 until all vestiges of the existing corrupt corporate state have been eradicated through the power of the ballot box and the empowerment of the 99%."

Why wait?

People are being thrown out of homes and impoverished by the status quo.

So why the fuck does the GA toss out toothless ultimatums that will only have power if and when they are backed by actual and real political action in this political cycle?

WHY WAIT!?!

Why did OWS occupy parks? Why didn't they just pick up guns and start blasting? Peaceable assemblies are to raise awareness. Petitioning the government gives government proper notice. Like it or not it is a respect thing.

The NGA and The List Of Grievances will be as toothless as YOU and every other protester let it be. The government will rip it up right in front of you and toss it to the wind because it doesn't have enough backing. This will have teeth if millions from all over America visibly support it by voting for their District rep. The venue in Philly is booked and the election materials and infrastructure are going up but don't YOU help because 1)' it'll never work 2) it can't be done 3) i don't like it 4) it's not what OWS is 5) i'm not sold on the idea 6) OWS has already done sooooooo much already like ????????

And the formation and meeting of the NGA July 4th won't worry the RepubliCrats one little bit. Not one will look at this NGA as a parallel watchdog congress and see any teeth. Nope, nothing to see there in Philadelphia people, move along. And OWS is going to have it's big Arab Spring Day Of Action in a few months and

OWS is not Ross Perot and it's a good thing i guess. Perot threw a gazzillion dollars to bring about a much desired third party. He lost. OWS doesn't have two thin dimes to rub together but it does have the VOTE. It'll take more time but the results will be worth the sacrafice and the wait.

Help your brothers and sisters out in the meantime, and for FUCKS SAKE UNITE! What does anyone have to lose by supporting this? tell me exactly what.

We are the 99% prove it aahpat. where's the solid in solidarity?

The NGA is a study in inertia.

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

Study in inertia, I guess that is supposed to be profound.

"The Congress was not a constitutional body; many of its members had been chosen irregularly. Its authority was limited to the willingness of the people to respect and obey its suggestions and mandates. The very fact of its existence had a meaning of great significance, but it was too profound for the comprehension of George III."

Looks like you are signed up for the George III club friend. They were called 'loyalists'.
