OWS is a very visible, very vocal tip of an iceberg of incredible systemic change percolating beneath our frigid political-economic waters. This movement will eventually disintegrate but after a long struggle and hopefully progress with its objectives. But the main goal of OWS, to bring attention to the issues of economic inequality and faltering opportunity for many people, has already been achieved. Some may lament, others may cheer when the tents come down and the people come home--both camps will have failed to recognize what has happened these past 30 some days. A thousand groups will be formed in a thousand cities from this initial seedling; come spring, if this recession has not been tackled in a meaningful way by our political and economic leaders--creating good paying jobs for Americans--the OWS 'revolt' will seem like a lamb compared to the ferocity of the wave that will come in 2012.
