So ows manages to insult a huge group of it's support base by making this a movement of the young. I have fully supported the movement and am not that much older than your 1980s start date. But I am very insulted and made certain to pass this along to national media outlets. Isn't this movement supposed to be about everyone? Remember, the people who would hire you for jobs are likely a little older. Some cracks are showing that reveal much. SHAME! Read This To Understand and if you agree, please let ows know. wtf ??? In case anybody was wondering...If our generation (people born between 1980-1995) actually got out of bed on election day and did what they should do, we would turn this political shit into a circus. We OUTNUMBER the baby-boomers, and THAT is why they try to keep us blinded with the media. They are afraid that we might change the world
Yes, I've heard several times by people claiming to represent the OWS movement as primarily for & by the youth, disregarding the contributions, both over the past decades & the present, by those who have worked to form the basis of what it is today. I agree that this is wrong, divisive, and offensive. It weakens the movement for everybody.
why would they do this? i've send that particular post to every media outlet i can think of. i'm truly surprised because it goes so against what they claim to be and claim to represent. a big egotistical, to say the least. i've donated money and food and have many times been there in person. if they continue on this track, they will step into some mighty c--p. maybe there should be a splinter group -- oows -- olders who occupy wall street. a huge SHAME. i honestly think they need to address this and explain or just come out and say it's all theirs!
I don't get where you're getting that this is a youth movement. I've seen lots of old folks out there protesting.
kman, that's exactly it. the ows post calls it a youth movement, saying that baby-boomers are trying to keep ows blinded with the media. i didn't write the ows post. the ows post starts where it says Occupy Walls Street: The March.....
