FOUR RELATED ITEMS

Item 1: Cornel West explains here why he was upset that President Obama chose to be sworn in for second term on MLK Jr.'s bible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96d_CzrfxsM This is a very powerful and moving statement and gets to the heart of King's legacy and Obama's's failure to represent the 99%. Cornel West channels King here. It's almost like King is scolding Obama.

The statement by West at the link above gets right to the heart of Occupy. This is not about politics. This is about being human and representing the PEOPLE first instead of putting corporate priorities first.

Item 2: Check out this news story from the Onion: "Obama Begins Inauguration Festivities With Ceremonial Drone Flyover" http://onion.com/11MpnI7

Item 3: Why the assassination of MLK, Jr. matters to every Occupy supporter and participant right here right now: http://occupywallst.org/forum/why-the-assassination-of-martin-luther-king-jr-mat/ ---

WARNING - you won't feel the same about those who have temporarily hijacked our republic after you read the information about what really happened and why King was such a threat to the establishment.

Item 4: Chris Hedges quote:

"It is only those who can retreat into the imagination, and through their imagination can minister to the suffering of those around them, who uncover the physical and psychological strength to resist."

I heard Beyonce was there too. Way to go, Obama.

"King: "I have a dream." Obama: "I have a drone."

The contrast of Pakistanis cowering frightened under those drones and Americans cheering them makes me sick. We have truly lost our humanity and purpose as a society.

Obama is all style and no substance. It's easy to make a speech. Cornell West and Chris Hedges are both courageous scholars who speak real truth to power. At the moment 22% of our children live in poverty and 42% of our African American children live in poverty. What is he going to do about that?

Thanks, therising for all you do here.

Please see updated and edited version of this post above: I think the Chris Hedges quote would be my direct response to your entirely understandable reaction to the juxtaposition of innocent civilians dying and Americans cheering. I feel the same way you do. And Chris Hedges is often as depressing as he is brilliant. But somehow Hedges seems to have given me hope here :)

Great. I was going to post something about the Contrast between Martin Luther King and Presindent Obama.

1) King protested the War in Vietnam & War in General
2) King knew that people are oppressed by the system
3) King knew the US Churches did not protest against slavery
4) King knew people that calimed to be Christians were in Denial about the System that they supported in the USA.
5) King would have protested the half truths and Lies in MSM
6) King would have spread Truth & Light
7) King Would have Questioned, & Driven Change in the Corporate System, Corporate Banks, and Corporate Military.
8) KIng would have Ended the Lobby & Gift Giving Culture in Washington DC.

Wow, I'll have to save this to a favorite to get through the reading. I have to sign off now. But have a link for you.

Foreign Free Trade Zones and Chinese Investment in the USA. Did you see how US Corporations are selling shares of projects to the Chinese and how Chinese Investment have grown into Billions. Obviously, the Chinese Ownership of US Federal Debt give them tons of leverage and a Media Black Out. You guys should read up on this Next Threat.

http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/does-china-plan-to-establish-chinese-cities-and-special-economic-zones-all-over-america

I don't mind Individual Chinese Investment... And we have to admit foreign corporations started big investments or corporations in China like in the 19th Century also.

But if you think wages are low now, wait till we start applying for jobs in Chinese corporations in the USA. Foreign Free-Trade Zones seem to give an advantage to Asian or other low wage nations. This seems to be a threat to US Unions and US Wages. We have had off shoring ... next we will have US Executives selling off our Corporations for a "Fat Payday"

What is the Saying, "I won't be here when it Falls". Public and Private Executives have stupidly set us all up for collasping wages... Again.
