Forum Post: Foxconn workers in China get 25% pay raise

They also stated that at the same time they will reduce the required overtime hours.

Public pressure does help. There is still a long road to travel but it is a step in the right direction.

Foxconn is the worlds largest factory and Apple's largest supplier. They manufacture 40% of the world's consumer electronics including most smart phones, X-Box, Play Station, motherboards, graphics cards...

This move has put pressure on other employers to make similar changes.

They were making $2/hr according to ABC World News Tonight and I heard nothing about a raise. Did hear them talk about the 18 suicides in last year plus at that factory, which was still less, statistically than the overall suicide rate in China...the workers paradise.

Yes, that's the way it works. Raising the pay of labor in one company or country pressures other companies or countries to raise their pay as well.
