Three systems theorists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich have taken a database listing 37 million companies and investors worldwide and analyzed all 43,060 transnational corporations and share ownerships linking them. They built a model of who owns what and what their revenues are and mapped the whole edifice of economic power.

Now we're typing. Great cite!
Thx.
I looked at Forbes. It was talking about the billionaires who control the internet--yes, CONTROL the internet.
That was their plan. Control free speech.
... so what?
They only control a lens on the situation. They would be all gone in six months if we stopped participating...
... that is one of the solutions and it's not really pleasant.
I would prefer to change the way money are being issued by a controlled legislative process - a managed transition might be better then a chaos transition.
I really think that's backwards. Better to let them be and tax them into utopia.
I suggest that the right of issuing a currency should be strictly removed from any government control.
You must have typed that wrong because it describes the current situation. The US gov should control the money not 147 and their FED.
The logic is different here.
US gov - i.e. legislation respectively is being controlled by these corporations and serves into their interests.
Please, check http://occupywallst.org/forum/change-the-political-control-of-the-money/
and ? what's the point ? we vote for the elected official who raise the most money. Who's fault is that?
That makes for a truly amazing job qualification. It is the fault of the US voters to even put up with silly reasons to vote for someone based on how much cash they raised. Great, corporations love you, ok, we'll vote for you. And THAT'S how corporations started running the country. When did 'hey i actually have a good plan that is good for the people and not some company's agenda' stop being a reason to elect someone? Was it ever? Ah well, foolish idealistic me, hoping that this institution in question should hold itself to any sort of honor or working for the people.
the tea party seemed to be pretty effective in holding their reps accountable. we'll revisit them next year and see how they did. If they didnt live up to expectations we'll throw them out too. keep the turnover going until they get the message.
I'm not sure if we all have a year to wait to see if the belated, packaged efforts of the 'tea party' will revolutionize the running of the US.
then prep your own candidate now to run against who you dont like.
This isn't a political party - it's the body of the people that are calling out the representatives and current institutions. That's where the Tea Party fails, just playing the same game as the problem.
huh?
Just that the banks control de facto the entire planet. Nothing more, nothing less - i.e. the Wall Street Movement is correct in its intuitive directions.
Ya that's why I'm all about OWS but I'm afraid my tea party credentials might get me kicked out.
Grow a spine, we need you here.
so - organize like the tea party & vote out the congressmen that don't represent you the way you want. deficating in the park is not how you go about it lol!
How do you mean it?
I mean you should organize your district and put your congressmans feet to the fire. Throw him out. run against him/her etc. thats how you effect change not causing a rukus in the park - getting arrested etc. People dont respect that type of behavior. The electoral process works. but it's a lot of work on our part too.
Who will pay him/her more?
You or the corporations?
I see ...
