Ok, everyone please bare with me and read everything below:

We are here for a reason, right? And thats to change the current situation of our country, and possibly the world, RIGHT?

Well, for all of you that have your own solutions to the problem, believe me when I say, I've heard it all. Some say we should localize our communities, support small business, overthrow the corrupt politicians, put "Moral" people in office, decrease the power of the government, or simply "create" more jobs and opportunities for people to support themselves.

Those are all great ideas that can get us somewhere, but you have to understand that after its all said and done, things most probably will get back to where they started. Politicians will continue to be bought out, corporations and government will again continue to grow in power, and the current system that we have will help in bringing us to a catastrophe worse than ever before.

You really gotta ask yourself, who is the enemy here? Or actually, what is the problem?

Well you have to understand that the current monetary system Is the real culprit here. Crime, war, poverty, disease, unemployment, and Debt are just symptoms of the disorder.

If you really want to see why this is so, then I urge you to watch the Documentary series Zeitgeist by Film maker Peter Joseph. They are 3 films that point out the real problems to our world, and exposes Institutions like Religion, Politics, Business, Government, and War for what they really are.

Here is a link for the 3 movies, all pretty long, so you have to be patient and watch them through, but I guarantee you that if you learn this information with an open mind, it will change you forever:

So, not only does he point out the flaws of the monetary system and its perpetual cycle of destruction and waste, he also presents a solution.

The solution, a resource based economy, was developed by Industrial and social engineer and inventor Jacqque Fresco (born 1916, Brooklyn). He realized a long time ago that human kind was on a collision course with Nature and that due to man's current blind ignorance to the ramifications of the system which he has created, he will eventually cease to exist.

Fresco is currently heading TheVenusProject in Venus Florida. The Venus Project's aim is for the world to claim all of it's resources for all of the world's people.

That is the only way to stop territorial disputes, war, and hunger. And we have the ability to do that now. Using science and technology and the humane application of it towards the environment and social progress, creating an efficient, sustainable system of abundance for all of the world's people.

I strongly urge you to go to thevenusproject.com and learn more about this refreshing idea to reshape the surface of the earth and to create a garden of eden. Also visit thezeitgeistmovement.com and join the database for a movement unlike anything ever seen before.

There is so much unnecessary suffering going on throughout the world right now, and we have a real chance here to present a resource based economy and to put an end to all our current paralyzing problems.

However, if we wake up and see that it is not money, but rather resources that are important, by using science and the new technologies of cybernation and computer wedded together (Sociocyberneering), we can solve almost every curent plaguing problem and move onto more important things

Money was created a long time ago when we didnt have the technology to harvest lots of food, shelter, clothing etc.

So instead of taking your 10 potatoes and bringing them to trade it with someone who was a tomato farmer, you would bring a token which stated how much of your potatoes it represented.

But now money has gone out of control to the point that a small group of people can have more than a half of the planet's resources while the rest have to fight and compete with one another for it.

Ever since early 1900's with the birth of industry, we had the ability to make produce a life of abundance for every single person in the world. BUT, in order to control the public and hold onto their positions of wealth and power, a small group of people have always been subduing the masses and reeking in the "profits".

We need Direct Democracy so we can decide what we want and how to get what we want. Resource based economy is just another Utopian idea from the Zeitgeist movement. For a good discussion on this please see here: Zeitgeist movement: http://www.themultitude.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&p=76

why do you come on here and try to mislead people? If you want to disagree with me, then do it in a debatable manner, not just say stuff then post a link and run away

What is a democracy may i ask you? Is it not the full participation of all the people in decisions to be made? Then if thats the case we should be having thousands of politicsl parties instead of a few, because im sure theres ALOT of people who are being left out of the thinker's box.

America has never been a democracy, and actually the world has never has such a thing. A few elite have always been controlling politics, business, etc because the monetary system is the real problem that perpetuates their kind.

Please care to discuss with me. And please dont insult by saying its a Utopian dream, there is no utopia, there are always problems. BUT the venusproject aims at fixing most of our current ones and using the most thought out and efficient system to go about things

Democracy was never perfect, it is work in progress, we improve as we go, with newer tools and technology.

From your post above it is clear that you already have the answer and not interested to search for a system, together with others, what will work for us.

Societies and people change with time, so does the perfect system that will work for a particular society. To stick to one specific answer that someone gave some decades back, is called dogma.

Please come to www.themultitude.org and have discussions on this so it does not get lost in this message board with its mountains of topics and comments, that are competing to get to the top of the page.

Well let me tell you. In our current system, money is the middle man for obtaining items. But you have to understand that Money has never been the issue, matter fact money has absolutely no value currently and no connection whatsoever to the resources of the planet.

When the system becomes corrupt--as every system in the history of mankind has--how do the 99% fight back when the 'Global Resource Management System" has control over all the food, water and energy?
