We have had great success already after only a little more than a year. As time goes by we WILL improve and have yet greater influence. "Hang on it get's bumpy from here." MW

I find most critics of American excesses/mistakes actually love the American ideals, the American promise, the American support for govt by the people, of the people, & for the people. We want to excercize the freedoms we love by criticizing America because our govt has been taken from the people by corp capitalist plutocrats.

We must delineate philosophy and economics. We can't call a thing a science if we'll only see what we want to see. Science is about reality. Hypotheses that fail to describe reality are not scientific theories.

And what's happened is that capitalism is demonstrated to be a pyramid scheme. It concentrates wealth, when profitable, exponentially at the compound interest rate of the net gain %. The growth of service economy is the growth of the money supply. The source of the investors' profits is our losses due to inflation. In our mostly service economy, most growth is imaginary and harmful to all but the power elites who own the world. Yeah, about 10% of professionals and business overseers got theirs. They'll be the last to realize that the real economy is dead and that their rich masters have driven the human race to the lemming cliff livelihoods' extinction.

Capitalism could only have ended this way for the same reason that perpetual motion machines will never work.

Limiting the percentage profit slows the process of concentration of wealth and slows inflation but it solves no problem. It only prolongs the agony. To minimize the damage that must be done by finance and other non productive services, they must be done on a non profit basis if at all.

Is that what you had in mind?

do you have ambition? drive? goals? if you answer yes then the USA is the place .

[+] -4 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Not according to some people - they think the USA has nothing to offer them and want the government to do it for them.

[-] -1 points by auargent (-600) 11 years ago

the obama, cloward /piven plan is to overwhelm the system and have it all collapse. obama & co. are doing their best to make it happen.

[-] -2 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Well it's apparent you are part of the "I want it all now" generation. So I think a "little education" should be in order when it comes to "wealth".

You see, it goes like this:

You go to school, graduate from high school, get a job doing whatever - go to college and pay as you go - lets not forget government handouts that are also available, graduate from college (hopefully you have a degree in an area where there are jobs) - get a job and "start building you job skills".

Now over the years as you improve your job skills your income will also increase and as your income increases your wealth will increase (that is if you don't spend yourself into submission like a lot of your generation does)

As time goes on and you continue to improve your job skills you become more valuable when it comes to being employed. In addition to that improvement in job skills also give you the opportunity to start your own businesses - should you so desire.

Now when you reach the age of 40 and if you saved money since you started working you will be on your way to becoming a millionaire - if you have not already acheived that goal.

So there you have it - it's up to you to do it.

Oh I forgot one thing - your determination and desire to succede along with having goals to become successful is a sure way towards success and wealth.

Going to work day after day being satisfied with a 40 hour week and having enough money left over for some "beer entertainment" will not lead to being wealthy and successful.

That is until a big company decides they want your market share and either have the govt regulate you out of business or use their access to slave labor to undercut any price you can offer.

[-] -2 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

All I have to say is when you look at things from the perspective of "being beaten" then you will never succede.

[-] 2 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

I see it as looking at the reality of our current economic system.

[-] -1 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Well it has been proven that - when a person is continually told that they are a failue, eventually they begin to believe it.

[-] 1 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Who said anything about being a failure? I'm just describing how the system works.

[-] -2 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Well if you think the system works like that tell me how is it affecting you - do you think you can be successful in your endeavours whatever they may be?

[-] 1 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

I'm lucky enough to work with a company that takes care of it's employees. Just because someone is not personally affected doesn't mean they should ignore obvious problems. I've seen my local market go out of business because of Vons, Mfg die out in America due to outsourcing, Remote internet sessions now allow tech support to be outsourced, And to top the list Walmart destroying the small business base of entire communities.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

You are a failure. Is it taking hold in your psyche?

Perhaps it should as you have been useless as an attacker on the forum.

But that would be truth - rather then suggestion.

Hhmmm

Hey, when it comes to being successful - I am very successful - I don't have to complain about the government not giving me a free handout for college, living wage or any of that other crap that people think needs to be handed to them by government - or for that matter taken away from wealthy people.

I can make it wherever I go and always have -

Never hear me whining about what others have that I should have.

And never hear me complaining about having to pay an obscene price for a part because it is OEM.

I can pay as I go and always have and have always have had the resources to do it regardless of what it costs.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

How about now - You Are A Failure. As a Human being.

[-] -1 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Sorry, but I have never failed in my endevours. However, based on the comments you post on this site and your attitude about people who are wealthy I suspect you aren't very successful

If you were, you would want to "encourage people to lift themselves up" and encourage success instead of continually discrediting successful people

Successful people don't discredit others because of their success - If they want something more, they establish a goal on how to get it.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I have absolutely no problems with those who are wealthy - I have a problem with those who are wealthy because they are starving those who made them wealthy. You are a failure - beginning to understand now?

[-] -3 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Tell me just who do you know "personally" that is starving? And when I say starving I am talking about a person that hasn't had anything to eat for several days, don't have a cell phone, and don't have the abiliity to go to a food bank and get free food.

[-] 2 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

No offense, but are stating that nutless punk Romney would have the stones to tell the bankers to go screw themselves?

If he was that type of guy, the D/R racket wouldnt even let him in.

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23772) 11 years ago

Why don't you ask the 1 in 7 Americans who are on food stamps, or better yet, one of the 22% of American children being raised in poverty, or one of the 42% of African American children being raised in poverty. You don't understand hyperbole, but in this country, the richest country on earth, one half of the populace earns less than $26,000 per year and that's a fact, not hyperbole. Still feel like defending it?

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

BW - Hi love - you are talking at ( at ) a shit head. Love U for it anyhow as others can see the conversation.

[-] -2 points by Shayneh (-482) 11 years ago

Well according to Obama the economy is doing just great and if you think they are not - why don't you write him a letter.

You like others on this site continually complain about what's going on in this country but yet you or others voted in Obama for a 2nd term.

Well, it isn't working and you are still complaining. You can complain about it all you want but it was the decision of the younger generation to do this.

Everyone was brainwashed about what Romney had to offer but I will guarentee you that if he was elected president the economy would be turned around in short order.

But he wasn't voted in because he was 'wealthy and evil and rich".

Well Obama like hitler brainwashed those who voted for him into making him a "evil person" because he was wealthy.

Deal with it and stop complaining about what's going on in this country - the deal is done and you along with others have until his term expires to put up with it.

I was there - just three years ago. And my Mom and Step-Dad will be there shortly if their aid gets much worse and if those still working in our family can not make up the difference. OH - I forgot to include myself returning to the hungry/starving - and that is if in this process we do not lose the roofs over our heads as exposure is much harsher ( on a basis of being a quick killer ) then starvation ( dependent on time of year and location ).

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Whatsa matter ? don't like the honesty of the comment? Does it prick at some small remaining vestige of humanity?

OOoops - sorry - I forgot the problem solver was silent for quite a while now.

Never Mind.
