The article is very interesting but, in my opinion, misses the mark completely.

I think that this country DOES need more well trained MBA's who can manage everything. What is lacking, are MBA's with any sense of obligation to others, to themselves and to society at large. Too many of todays' products of our educational system lack a system of morals, committment to what is right, and a broad committment to serve others.

We have no reason to point fingers and to blame the current group of CEOs and MBAs because be are getting exactly what we asked for. We just got what we wanted AND now we don't like it.

If you do not think that this is a valid point - look at the posts on these forums. Many of these are not written by "idiots". However, they act like one:

  1. Look at the language, the vulgar, the condemning etc.

  2. Look at the complete lack of respect for others as they expound upon their correctness and dictatorial means of accomplishing what they want. They far outshine any CEO that I have heard speak.

  3. Examine what their content really is. It is all about ME and MY wants. It in no way reflects a concern for the fellow man.

And we have the "guts" to point fingers. How many of the posts on this website can you point to and say - now that person would make the type of CEO that I would want to work for.

Thanks for taking the time to read the article and for the reply.
I DO take your point regarding "us" getting exactly what we asked for. Just today I got to watch (at long last) the film "Margin Call." The glaring ethical and moral flaws we see in the characters in the film are probably fairly typical of those who travel in those circles. I found the film's final scene of Sam Rogers burying his beloved dog as a metaphor for the state of his own moral compass most interesting.

In the past I've been involved in forums elsewhere that have had to endure the kinds of things that many of us here at the OWS forums must also put up with, i.e. the lack of respect for others, vulgar language, name-calling, racism, and even genuine mental instability. There's a sad truth in the point you made here.
