  • Societal Gaslighting on a mass scale... perhaps the population will go mad and begin to attack the system of government in a manner not unlike Joan Crawford and her hangers, or perhaps we'll use what we have on hand ...pitchforks, axes, knives, tar, feathers, dare I say the g-word..? I meant guillotines silly (Hi Mr. NSA - btw - if you're out there :-) ...

Gaslighting is being used everywhere, even here. The voting system on this forum enables gaslighting of valid comments. People on here having anti-establishment ideas, are being gaslighted by establishment party shill cheerleaders.

We can see people who are either OCD political junkies, or paid shills, gaslight others who don't support their corrupt establishment party politics.

There is even a nutjob on here who Gaslights others for not supporting his corrupt Democrat political establishment. He calls them Unicorn chasers. His revolutionary idea for change is to "get out and vote Democrat"! If you don't, you're a "unicorn chaser"! Seems to me, we've been gaslighted into chasing unicorns for 200+ years and look where we've ended up. Both duopoly parties should change their mascots from an elephant and donkey to unicorns.

Einstein's definition of insanity was: "To do the same thing over and over and expect a different result." I guess that means that anyone who votes RepubliCon or DemoCrap and expects things to change is Insane.

Duopoly= the ultimate in gaslighting technology.

That's why you can't equate it to this.

I suppose it helps them avoid painful realities like this...........:)

They never did fit all that into their gaslighting campaign.

And they aren't going to either.

It's a simple question of........

Who's zoomin' who?

There's a Showtime series coming up this spring that will take on gaslighting on global warming.

I'll be watching.

TY. This is one of the few OWS related posts I've seen that talks about employment. Congress and the Senate have thrown a minimum of 1.3 million families under the bus by not extending unemployment benefits. Even the MSM talking heads are making air quotes when they announce the 'official' unemployment rate of 6.7 (factor in discouraged workers and involuntary part-timers, and you're closer to 24%). every week the extension is not renewed means another 70,000 people's benefits get cut. Many of the people in Occupy that I've spoken to are either unemployed or underemployed. And yet, there has not been a single demonstration to call attention to unprecedented rates of long-term unemployment. In recent months we've demonstrated about Monsanto, increasing minimum wage for fast food workers, access to transplants for people with AIDS, protests about De Blasio (he got elected in a system we all agree is bought and sold by the 1%) and Bratton (who did we think De Blasio would pick for police commissioner? Ray 'occupy' Lewis?) and police misconduct. All important, but all traditional lefty causes. It has been 80 years since unemployment was this high, and nobody in OWS is prioritizing this. Yes, we're being gas-lighted about the availability of jobs. But as a group we're ignoring the issue. Is there somebody willing to organize this as a working group?

SO what's your point? Every generation IS SOFTER. Not sure what the intrusive, illegal NSA activities have to do with anything? Guess I should google gaslighting, but your thread title is pretty misleading

Point is there is massive propaganda being paid for to gaslight the populous (I can't think of a better explanation of what's happening in society right now) especially on today's youth. In the last 20 years I have seen the decline of democracy, jobs, freedom, and privacy. We're all treated like consumer cogs now and the government sold us to corporate America - yes people have been sold, America has been sold, Congress and the Supreme Court made laws to make us subservient to corporate america... and it's being ignored. American citizens are being spied upon from a force more powerful than any nation. Corporations track us in every way possible; The combined wealth of fortune 500 corporate america has more wealth than nations. They use our tax dollars like a lending institution and grant program, and make jobs as scarce as possible. Constructed scarcity and forced reliance to subdue us, and make us poor, and make us live a poor quality of life, and make us too frustrated and exhausted to fight it. Congress has been infiltrated. The FBI spied upon groups like occupy and NSA tries to label us as terrorists. When a nation loses it's ability to protest, or to it's privacy to gather in groups such as Occupy - it's done. We are going to end up like the Chinese Citizens. Communism by another name is still Communism - corporate America partners with Communists and emulates their business model and influences our government to become like it. Who is in the wagon? Wall Street. These are all know points, and that is the point. Denying over and over again what the public already knows to be fact - is insane (or enough to drive people insane) the very definition of Gaslighting if you read about it.

Question is when are we going to realize we're not crazy and stop enabling the media, and Congress, to cause us such harm as to question our own sanity as a nation? A nation full of intelligent sentient hard-working individuals who have always been known for their self-reliance? When are we going to take back our country from this band of thieves? Bring down Wall Street and bring back Main Street!!!

Fight Back!!

TPP = Tritium (Washington D.C.'s three branches of goverment) Plutonium (Wall Street's powerful wealthies) Polonium (Main Street divided and ruled by the oligarchs and poisoned by the media). What do they add up to? Ice cream, mushroom, or Bikini?
