Forum Post: Energy Independent America

There is a Research Institution called the "Rocky Mountain Institute" that has program called "Project Get Ready"

The programs shares science and other resources with local governments in an effort to help them prepare for a sustainable green future.

Columbus Ohio has partnered with "Project Get Ready" and a summary of what columbus is working on with that project/program is listed at the link below.

Columbus is well on it way to becoming one of Americas greenest cities.

The Chief Scientist at the Rocky Mountain Institute, a man named Amory Lovins is promoting a vision the Institute is putting forth on how to move America into Energy Independence by transitioning America off fossil fuels an into a society run totally on green energy.

The program is called "Reinventing Fire"

This vision will create millions of jobs right here in America and grow Americas economy by 158% by mid century. Now that is a future I would like to see for every child I know.

The kick off event for this effort will take place in Washington DC, I think on October 27th, 3 days from now.

There is an Internationally recognized economist named Jeremy Rifkin. He has been hired by many cities, (To Include my city of San Antonio, TX) to help them develop a long term sustainability plan.

Many of his ideals are consistent with those being put forth by the Rocky Mountain Institute.

Other countries in Europe, China, & India are well ahead of America in developing the sustainable companies and economies of the future.

I urge you to send this to all of your friends/contacts, etc. and for you to get involved in promoting these types of efforts in your community. Green energy is projected to be a MULTI TRILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY over the coming decades. Our children's economic futures and our very planet are at stake.

Write, call and even visit the local offices of your congressional representatives and let them know that the fossil fuel age is ending. I tell my representatives that taking money from fossil fuel lobbyist is a crime against the american people, the planet, and humanity.
