BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon near Occupy Boston protesters.
I will not stand by and let this happen again, I saw my Uncle jeered and booed when he returned from Vietnam and I be damn, if I sit on butt and do nothing this time, I am and most of my Veteran buddies will not put up with this again.
It is inappropriate and unfortunate if this happened. However, after a very extensive google search and a review of all relevant Boston groups ( BPD, USCG, and local media) the only group talking about this is the local fox news affiliate. All other blogs, talk radio etc use the fox news story as their source. The USCG does not even have anything about the story on their New England website. If there is any source out there other than fox news or someone quoting them. Please provide a link. The Globe, the Herald, all of the local news outlets do not have anything therefore, it seems safe to assume that this is propaganda by fox news to demonize the protest. Given the number of people in Boston with smart phones and cameras there must be some video, if this incident occurred.

OWS is not responsible. The people who mistreated that woman are responsible. There is no doubt you are angry...but place the blame where it belongs..
The vast majority of people in this country do not blame the brave men and women in the military for the wars, including #OWS. In fact, there are former military in #OWS and they have spoken in support of the movement. Every group has loose nuts, including many on the violent right:

The question of who is the US Military fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan or Libya is a valid one!
This is all I will say on this matter, if you find out these people were part of your movement, please put them in their place and make them refrain from stirring up anger in the Veteran community.

Remember folks, almost all of the news outlets in America these days are bought and paid for by the corporations and other special interests. Fox is a good example. The term "Fox News" is an oxymoron. I used to listen to them religiously until I came to the realization that no real journalism was happening and that it was all opinion and propaganda to sway public opinion in the direction of their benefactors. This will not be the last time they appeal to Americas' love of servicemen to further their agenda. I would not take it at face value.
There is no proof it happened. I'm sure she got some words thrown at her. The spitting may have been unintended as when protesters scream sometimes spittle comes out.
This is like the Tea Party protest where the opposing side claimed they had been spit on and the protesters were chanting racial slurs. In that case there was actually dozens of video recordings from different angles and not a single confirmation. But it's great propaganda for liars like Pelosi....

The OWS movement is NOT encouraging this behavior. The only 'radical' statement that anyone has made, including myself, is that perhaps the Military should re-consider whether or not they want to SERVE a corrupt and greedy 1% Elite regime. Our brave citizens risk their lives on the battle fields while the 1% Elite stay at home and just get richer. The 1% Elite go to great extremes to make sure that their own children never step foot on the Front Lines... while they call the death of people like you "casualties of war". Anyway, I respect your Service and so does everyone else. Thank you.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: One of the main pillars of Conservative propaganda is that both parties are the same. Nothing they say is further from the truth. It is an insidious lie intended to demoralize progressives, and discourage them from voting. Do not fall for this canard, because if both parties are the same, there is no hope for change, and therefore no reason to vote. The truth is that there is a difference between the parties. A stark difference! One party works for the rich, the other party works for all Americans. One party takes money from the needy to feed the greedy, and the other party takes money from the greedy to feed the needy. One party has plans and policies to create jobs, and the other party has a long list of lame excuses for not doing anything. Liberals want to change things. Conservatives want things to stay the same. There is a difference. One party wants to tax the rich, and the other party wants to tax the poor. One party wants to destroy Unions, and the other party wants to support them. One party supports the Occupation of Wall Street, and the other party doesn’t. One party wants to rebuild America, and the other party doesn’t. One party wants to provide health care for all, and the other party doesn’t. One party wants to regulate Wall Street, and the other party doesn’t. One Party wants to end the wars; the other party wants them to go on forever. There is a difference. One party is Myopic, and the other party is Far Sighted. One party wants to help the Middle Class, and the other party is at war with the Middle Class. One party wants to fire Teachers, and the other party wants to hire them. One party wants to create more jobs in America, and the other party wants to create more jobs in Asia. There is a difference. One party wants to protect pensions, and the other party wants to loot them. One party has a heart, and the other party has Ann Coulter. One party protects the right bear Arms, and the other party protects the right of freedom of assembly. One party believes that the only role for the Government is to provide for the common defense, and the other party believes that the Government should also promote the general Welfare. There is a difference, and anybody that tells you there is no difference between the parties is simply not conversant with reality. In addition, anyone that blames the Democrats for the current state of affairs has no understanding of who controls the Government. One Party has the Presidency, and the other party has the Majority in the House, controls the Senate, has a majority on the Supreme Court, and is responsible for current economic policy. So, if you’re angry, and you want to start a real fight, I submit that we should start a real fight with the Conservatives! America has a Two Party System. One party is clearly on your side, the other party thinks you’re and Anti-American mob. At some point in time you’re going to have to pick one. Choose wisely, your future is at stake
