The twenty people that I employ pay for SS, and FICA, on 100% of their income. The sad part is that none of them realize that more wealthy people with other forms of income do not. Unfortunately, they only bring home between $200 and $300 per week and they spend every penny living day to day.

Expand Social Security contributions to other forms of income would be a simple and fair way to fulfill the goals of Social Security

Not a bad idea. They could move 2.5% of long term capital gains to social security and it would help. 12.5% could still go in the general budget since that gets pissed away anyway. The biggest problem is Washington has to start saying no and stop spending so much money, just like we do at home!
