Forum Post: Don't Feed the Beast!

Everyone, please, go look in your pantry right now. Does every can and box you use to make your dinner come from a name brand manufacturer? Now look in your closet. Does every article of clothing you wear have a tag that is advertised nationally by TV, radio, and magazine? Is your cell phone with a major service provider? Is your bank too big to fail? Do you regularly shop at the big box stores?

If you're not buying local, or in bulk, or generic, or used, or made by your own hands, your dollars aren't staying in your community but instead are going to support the very corporations we protest! They take a portion of these profits and further erode our freedoms by influencing politicians with large campaign contributions, fancy vacations, and prime sports tickets, to legislate in the corporations favor and against the very people our representatives are supposed to represent.

Before you lash out against any corporation, corrupt politician, or wealthy individual, look at you own hand first and make absolutely sure your dollars are not feeding the economic and political tyranny that is steadily and aggressively eating us alive!

We are all part of a system to a certain extent, but your point is a great one. Starve them out. Stop wasting your hard earned dollars on rims, kicks and ipads.

It would be great if there were stores that specialized in marketing locally produced items.

There probably are. Problem is we have been so conditioned to only consider name brands, that we completely ignore the rest. How many times do we bypass the family run restaurant nearby for the familiar, but poorer quality and equally expensive McDonalds or other fast food franchises?

I would like to say that none of that paragraph applies to me personally. This must allow me some say though it is funny the people who are as myself are not the ones complaining, how does that work? If you are complaining about the corporations then you are actually the same as them because you are paying to make them so, kind of like that. P.S. Do-do starve that beast!
