Msnbc serves the same function for the democratic party that fox news serves for the republicans, while cnn just serves the intersts of the estab lishment in general i think. They are all corporate echo machines that serve in the intersts of the elite and yes they all lie but I would venture to say that fox news is a particularly egregious example.

But, progressives are moral, conservatives are not.

i'm not sure what you are getting at there. Are you saying that Msnbc is some how better than fox? You are aware that the parent corp for msnbc is GE which paid next to no taxes last year and that they are one of the top companies that are exporting jobs over seas. Also Jeffery Emelt the CEO of GE is Obamas jobs advisor which when you think about it makes perfect sense considering the 3 job destroying trade deals that Obama has been pushing for.

The company isn't, but conservative opinion is hateful, yes.

I agree. Conservatives tend to brag about being Christian but they do the most unchristian things to their fellow citizens. Charity doesn't matter since we are private citizens can't be helping the poor all the time that's we gave the government the OK to establish welfare programs 80 years ago.

it ain't so much as they lie, which they do many times,,, but the more fun is that they take legitimate news and sandwich opinions in-between news stories and present them as news with no dis-claimers, no clear statement that "this is opinon" there for it comes across as news

Fox News is a "news" network that is really right wing propaganda that serves corporate and anti-liberal interests.

Would you please, please do me a favor? Just take a random week, any week, and watch O'Reilly, and then watch Larry "Silence of the Lambs" O'Donnell on MSNBC. O'Reilly usually has multiple people (not even counting the Colmes guy) on each night that disagree with his point of view, and sometimes it's 2 on 1 against O'Reilly. Sometimes it gets heated, sometimes it doesn't. The other night he had Tavis Smiley and Cornell West on, both of whom were spitting venom, and he handled them with aplomb. Larry, in between eating his fava beans and sipping Chianti, mostly does extremely long-winded, nasty holier-than-thou monologues, kind of like Olbermann-lite. When he's not doing that, he has on almost exclusively liberal media writers/bloggers and they just jerk each other off. Maybe it's why they're switching his time slot. But it's as boring as watching Olbermann or Glenn Beck, or even Hannity. What is engaging is when you have an actual exchange of opinions with hopefully some facts sprinkled in. That is why O'Reilly is and has been number one for so long. He doesn't lecture or moralize a lot, and when he does, he does it in a succinct, and matter of fact way. And he always allows for a difference of opinion, but will not let people get away with lying (that's usually when it gets heated). Just my two cents, but please do me the favor of at least watching for a week and seeing if you just simply want to watch someone preaching to you about what you want to believe, or you want to hear the other side at all.

"Fox News" isn't exactly an accurate name they should be forced to change their name to "Fox Propaganda"

Fox news is basically Rupert Murdock taking the very successful tabloid business model and applying it to America. Its shows are some of the most highly rated shows on TV because entertainment always trumps news.

obviously fox news lies. in fact that was their legal defense recently in a lawsuit, that they are allowed to lie as part of their freedom of expression.

Conservatives conserve civilization.

Liberals expand civilization.

Socialists help people.

Libertarians help themselves.

All news is biased to dome degree. Some lean to the left, others to the right. I will admit, FOX leans way over to the right. They don't even try to hide it.

I believe it's more about market share and finding your niche. All cable programming, whether it's a sitcom or documentary needs to speak to a particular audience. This is no difference. Fox has cornered the market on conservatives, CNBC Liberals, CNN moderates.

Still, it should be noted that all major networks, are owned by the 1%.

Fox News is a source from which liberals claim that everything is untrue, and therefore all right-wing ideology is untrue. It's a liberal fallacy more than it is an untrustworthy news show. For example Right-wing: "I want small government" Liberal: "Did you hear that on Fox News?" Right-wing: "I don't watch Fox News." Liberal: "Well, I heard that on Fox News, so you're wrong." See how this works?
