Brandon Smith does not do a very good job of examining how a media concern actually works, how it uses persuasive devices, the forces that shape various opinion presentations, the various presentations themselves . . .
Instead, he makes a sweeping assertion, and depends on your having already accepted a premise that has not been proved, and in fact is not entirely accurate:
It is a fact that in many ways the media does seem to get worse every day - yet at the same time the media is populated with individuals, and many of them are under the impression they are doing a good job.
How is that possible?
It begins with systems of belief.
Corruption of the media may begin with deregulation - but it can only be maintained with a great deal of subtlety -
. . . faux snooze excepted . . .
A very good article. Enjoyed reading it. Thanks for providing. Disinformation is so prevalent in our society that most people can no longer distinguish truth from falsehood, which is exactly what the elites intended from the beginning. More people need good critical thinking skills and training in informal logic in order to recognize logical fallacies that they are constantly bombarded with. But so few people are even aware that they are being manipulated that they fail to recognize the need for such an education. Informal logic and training in recognition of logical fallacies should be mandatory in the grade schools.
