I got five that says that Alaska doesn't have the balls to actually tax Shell. It gets buried quickly as possible. Any takers?

Oh, wait....second scenario...they are taxed but they get all of that right back.

Well, seems how they get billions in subsidies, Im going to go with the later...

Talk about running the economy... "We are going to pay 0 taxes, and then after the year, you fuckers (the tax payers) are going to pay US"...

Its unreal that this goes on.

Massachusetts Rep. Ed Markey is ranking Democrat on the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources. On Thursday, Markey sent a letter to Shell Oil president Marvin Odum stating that "conversations with the Alaska office of the National Weather Service (NWS) do not back up Shell's claim" with regards to a weather forecast the company has used to defend moving the Kulluk from Dutch Harbor, an international port in Alaska's Aleutian Islands, south to Seattle. http://www.alaskadispatch.com/article/congress-asks-shell-about-tax-dodge-statement-kulluk-grounding

and here is the article in Bloomberg that is referenced in the above article http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-01-10/lawmaker-asks-shell-if-taxes-played-role-in-rig-beaching.html

Always entertaining - especially when they continue to shoot themselves in the foot while doing it.

I love it when they keep making matters worse for them self - it gets out to the public like nothing else ( so far ).

As long as we ( the people - OWS/Occupy - all good groups ) keep the education/outreach happening - those misfits/waste-of-space will begin getting their deserved recognition/slap-downs.

I hope so.

I know your not gonna stop and I know that I am not gonna stop - and funny things are beginning to happen in politics and business - I think that we are so on the edge of a major positive tipping point - so close now.

I'm just not that optimistic yet.

It is ok to think positive ( gotta feed the spirit ) just always be prepared for the worst - if the worst does not happen ( well you were ready for it ) you can take/enjoy a measure of success and continue with positive goals in mind continuing to feed your spirit and resolve. Hey? If the worst does happen ( you won't be knocked off of your feet ) - you can continue the fight anyway.
