"the Mayor of Oakland acknowledged that the Department of Homeland Security had participated in an 18-city mayor conference call advising mayors on "how to suppress" Occupy protests."
List the names of all mayors - particularly those authorizing/abetting using violence to dismantle peaceful protest. Same with police chiefs. They must find ngo jobs. Demand resignations. Demand criminal charges. Demand assurances that your own right to nonviolent protest doesnt continue to face violent oppression. Elect/support only folks to public positions who seek peaceful solutions and champion our Constitutional rights rather than trample over them with impunity with Homeland Security cheerleading.
Of course. You can obviously recognize a pattern - all orchestrated by an agency formed to confront terrorism. It's a Bizarroworld now clearly. The 4profit mainstream media are also adhering to guidelines - notice there isnt any acknowledgement of ows's solidarity worldwide. Coverage favors the Tahir square demonstration yet the same news sources paint our occupations as unrelated, fringe, unrepresentative, etc. across North America. I dont believe Homeland Sec. is the only agency endeavoring to marginalize ows. Peace.
If Bloody Barack Obama could continue, escalate and militarize the Jim Crow Drug War, after insinuating to voters that he would do just the opposite, killing countless thousands in Mexico while locking up and mass disenfranchising even more minority youth than Bush had of course his Department of Homeland Security would organize the oppression of social justice activist Americans.
This is what you get when you let yourself be conned by a smooth talking authoritarian Democrat or Republican.
Really? Admitted it? Like we couldn't figure that one out. That is one of the many reasons Obama is a disappointment. I lay this at his feet because he is either behind it or is a fool allowing it. Same sentiment for him regarding legalization of marijuana. Now I know OWS doesn't like to talk about this much, but it is critical to sick people not to be persecuted for taking care of themselves. This crack down on OWS is indicative of the 2-faced fed.
Sounds about right. That woman in Oakland has a history of once being in the struggle. How does she sleep at night talking on a conference call with the national secret police and Michael Bloomberg?
We knew all along that the Department of Homeland Security would be used against the people and not just against foreign threats. It is sickening though to see it used against a non-violent protest.
But no surprise.
