Forum Post: Dedicated Police Stream

No matter where we are in the world, as activists and protestors we are confronted by the both the military and police whom it's now established and documented, are there to safeguard the 1% and their resources. Police in particular remain a constant that we must confront and endure.

As such I propose that we take a radical new approach, which is to minister and work with them by providing a OWS stream, or channel dedicated to working with police and military. This stream or channel as I envision it, needs to be staffed and guided by those who are police, military, who are supportive of direct actions and OWS; inviting organizations like OATHKEEPERS, as well as therapists, psychologists, human rights activists, philosophers, spiritual leaders, who can break down the indoctrination and thin blue line that separates police from us, the 99%.

Police need to understand the process that they go through that forms and programs their perceptions, actions and behaviors. There are people who understand this process, and can lead the working men and women, who put on a police uniform, a title, and lose their values, and souls in the process, towards spiritual and psychological healing; and ethical constitutionally directed empowerment. We can create the means, for police to empower themselves with knowledge, history,awarenesss, and our encouragement to be more human than as an enforcement arm of the 1%.

We need psychologists and therapists who can give them and us, online seminars, and teach ins, on how they are indoctrinated, how they can empower their own humanity to stand and do the right thing when ordered to brutalize. We need to learn as protestors to endure,and try by our prescense to support them towards reclaiming their humanity and mental autonomy; rather than just responding with verbal attacks, however justified. Hey Pig, is not and never will be the answer. In the 60's hippies gave police flowers to remind them, that there is more;there is beauty, truth, justice, and I invite you to come with me, even as you are required to do a job.. we too must learn, and empower peace, and non-violence.

This channel should encourage healers, therapists, and thinkers from around the world to globally connect with police and military, giving both the tools that are needed to mentally and spiritually reclaim our humanity. We now have the technology to do this. Can OWS launch this ground braking initiative. Imagine a Tibetan Budhist priest who survived Chinese violence giving a semianr to New York police...or Jack McLamb retired hero patriot police officier speaking to police and military. Please put this forward to OWS as a serious proposal; which also would expand OWS supporters, since this is a enduring concern around the world.
