Forum Post: Dear mods, can we get a way to up/down vote OPs in threads?

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Or the entire threads, period? It would be a great tool for casual viewers to see exactly which threads are deemed "troll threads" and which have the most support. Also, that makes it much easier to deflect the trolls who bump their own crap to the top because right now if we want to stop a troll thread we have to either respond to it (bumping it to the top) or ignore it (which looks like no one has a counter-argument when in reality we're just refusing to feed the troll.)

Bad idea. If you did that, anyone who disliked a post could collapse it at any time, regardless of whether it was actually a troll or not. And they could collapse ours.

And where is your logic in the statement, " . . to stop a troll thread we have to . . respond to it . ." That's crazy. You stop a troll thread by ignoring it. Is it that hard to understand?

Allowing individuals to 'red flag' any comment or ad they disagree with on Craigslist is what ruined CL. That's too much power to put in the hands of a couple people. Please rethink this. Didn't you learn anything from tr@shy?
