Forum Post: Colorado disaster

Posted 12 years ago on July 20, 2012, 10:02 a.m. EST by ericweiss (575)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

So how many hours till our friends at the national rabid association
remind us that guns don't kill people
and this killer was sent there by Eric Holder
and if everyone in the dark theatre had a gun, this could never have happened
and it is just a coincidence that these disasters happen in states with little gun control
and if Obama is re-elected he will take away our guns
and we need more death penaly

and PLEASE take off my straight jacket!

Then there is this bit of news to be concerned about ... http://occupywallst.org/forum/occupy-black-bloc-member-james-holmes-shoots-up-au/

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

That is hysterical - identified as an occupy member.

Huh.

Is that something that is done now? Or has it always been done.

To find out a mass murderers leanings?

Does that even count as being rational? I mean as mass murderers are fucked-up.

Hmmm - did they publish the leanings of Bundy or Dahmer or Green River or any of those other totally fucked-up serial killer mass murdering "individuals" ? What about the columbine killings were political leanings involved there?

Exactly. The Unabomber was a huge Al Gore fan. Does that make Al Gore evil? But get ready for the opportunists from both sides to pounce on this.

Not really. Just look at Chicago. Most restrictive gun laws in the country and more shooting deaths last year than American losses in Afganistan.

[-] 1 points by ericweiss (575) 12 years ago

I'm not counting, but I would guess that 80%-90% of the guns used in Chicgo were drug related - shoot someone for $20,000 of drugs
Other places were gun nuts
shoot someone because you have a gun

what kind of idiot takes a 3 month old and a 6 year old kid to see a three hour midnight movie?

[-] 1 points by TitusMoans (2451) from Boulder City, NV 12 years ago

You're absolutely right. No wonder so many children grow up to be so bad.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

The more important question is, what kind of evil idiot would shoot them for doing so.

Another gun nutter?

I'm not surprised you missed that, it is after all, the correct question to ask.

Another good question is, what kind of place allows someone to walk around with multiple weapons of mass destruction?

Colorado?

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Who else would walk into a crowded theater with multiple weapons of mass destruction?

A nun?

Perhaps you don't believe in gun nutters?

They have a tendency to shoot a bunch of people all at once.

[-] 0 points by JackPulliam3rd (205) 12 years ago

Ahhh. So the important question to ask is a political one, so you can attack the right wing and make them responsible for the lunatic. Gotcha

My question was referring to crappy parenting putting innocent kids at risk. And if you can't afford a movie and a babysitter, you don't get to go to the movie. Something people need to think about before pushing out babies.

But c'mon shooz, let's politicize this asap. I'm not surprised you did that, it is after all, the correct thing to do

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

I wonder if you are correct on being down on the individual who took the kids to a midnight movie. Do people bring their kids to the afternoon matinee?

Look at this world of massive work hours to get subsistence pay - work is happening 24hrs a day seven days a week.

Perhaps this individual was running their own program of family time and using the hours available - perhaps putting the kids on a flexible schedule to match theirs so that they could spend time together that many many many many many many families don't - anymore - due to a fucked up society.

Of course he did have 3 guns, and tear gas so it would be pretty ignorant to pretend gun policy shouldn't be analyzed. And it isn't a great leap to suggest that he might a nut. Even a gun nut.

Now I didn't say right wing, or republican. But everyone knows these are republican related maladies.

Lets keep guns out of unstable peoples hands. Lets keep guns from people convicted of violent crimes. Lets track all guns. Lets close the gunshow loophole. lets try to keep guns out of criminals hands.

Maybe we can slow down themassive deathtoll from guns every year.

Where did I mention politics?

I didn't, you did.

Silly man.

The kids suffered no risk, until the gun nutter showed up with weapons of mass destruction. weapons allowed by laws pushed through by fellow gun nutters at the NRA.

The part you glossed over completely.

Nice to know you think of the "right wing" as a bunch of lunatics though.

I suppose that's not too far from the absolute truth.

"Nice to know you think of the "right wing" as a bunch of lunatics though." comes from "so you can attack the right wing and make them responsible for the lunatic."

learn to read without projecting.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I will, when you learn how to observe without projecting.

So where did I mention politics in the original post? The one you accused me of doing so.

Or is changing the subject more important to you?

[-] 0 points by Phanya2011 (908) from Tucson, AZ 12 years ago

Probably couldn't afford both a babysitter and a movie, and of course, they didn't expect to shot at.

This mass murder is clearly influenced and brought about indirectly by Occupy. Holmes was trying to stop people from watching it because it tells the truth about the Occupy movement and is representative of the struggle between good (law and order) and evil (anarchism,Leftist dogma and politics).

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 12 years ago

Wishful thinking.

You are clearly delusional.
