Basically this is just an idea that would remove either your local or federal representatives as the only people who can pass laws. If you think you have an appropriate law you could work out the meat and potatoes of it between your family friends church or whatever. After you do you go out and get say 10% of registered voters to sign the bill and congress would then be forced to take up the issue and could not refuse to pass it or amend it.This law would not apply to ANY company for profit or not. Meaning they could not put forward any legislation.

Let me know what you think. Should we try to do this and if so does it need to be modified or changed in any way. Thanx Peace

And how many ( % ) Americans have been polled to support this?
Like so many OWS ideas created by brilliant , educated people - they are primarily philosophical. PLEASE CONCENTRATE ON WHAT CAN BE REALLY DONE
WE DONT HAVE THE TIME FOR THEORY
Would you sign on, and work for a revolutionary goal that is supported by
83% of Americans?

I wouldn't say that Congress would be required to pass it, but I would definitely require that debate on legislation originating in that manner open no later than 30 days after the bill was signed by the citizens in question, cloture obtained within 90 days, and a full up-or-down vote held within 100 days. This would effectively fast-track the bill in question past the black hole of committee, and guarantee it a full hearing in a timely fashion.
