It's time we take the banking back into our hands.

1)We must set up citizen run, and democratically operated economic institutions 2)instate stronger alternative currencies (digital, commodity and service trade) 3)Allow open access to all technolgy and means of production for all.

As of right now we are gathering a BTC collective that is launching a free energy campaign.

Banksters will continue to make profits - as they have done for centuries - but people should have an opportunity to bank with ethical (& perhaps publicly owned) banks. The best ethical practices should be present in the 'market place' and should be promoted, incentivised and rewarded 'in the market place' so we the people - The 99% - can make informed choices and perhaps only 'Publicly Owned Banks' can do this - which is exactly why The Infernal Banksters will fight this idea tooth and nail !!!

Some points on the matter of 'Publicly Owned Banks' :

1) Democratic Accountability and oversight over behaviour such as led to The 2008 Financial Crisis ;

2) Prevention / removal of a culture of short-termism and 'perverse incentives' & of 'perverse incentives' ;

3) Profits to be ploughed back into "Society" rather than to 'private shareholders' (Foreign or otherwise) ;

4) Driving out 'bad banking practice' and favour / instil 'ethical' practices and behaviour ;

5) Genuine rewarding of savers - NOT fleecing them and driving them towards 'sharks' ;

6) A far more fair, rational, longer-term & more socially responsible outlook for lending ;

7) Reigning in dubious practices ("Innovative Financial Products" - CDOs, CDS's, 'Mortgage Backed Securities', et al & outright fraudulent behaviour - Bernie Madoff / Jon Corzine / MF Global, et al) ;

8) Re-instilling Public Confidence by Accepting / Realising that Banking & Financial Services can NOT just be left to 'Selfish Short-Term Profit Motives' ;

9) Have you ever heard of The State Owned "Bank Of North Dakota" ? IF NOT, why not d'you think ? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_of_North_Dakota and http://banknd.nd.gov/ ) ;

10) The Urgent Reintroduction of 'Glass Steagal'.

Of course there is some degree of overlap in my points and almost guaranteed that one could argue the toss, so from a purely US perspective - I'll seek to leave you with something more substantial to read, reflect and ruminate upon :

All of this is common knowledge... Unfortunately our system continues to perpetuate the same corruption, and favor the same banksters. I prefer to not wait and act accordingly. A true council of members that can be voted in and out, by the people, is something we are advocating for. They work for us, not the other way around.

Am still recommending : http://publicbankinginstitute.org/home.htm & I'm not at all sure what that bunch of letters and numbers mean, lol.

I don't trust any banker with my money. We need impenetrable money, not a centralized one that can be censored or manipulated.

That's my BTC wallet for my solar power and perpetual energy campaign.

Also see : http://occupywallst.org/forum/info-on-credit-unions/ & not sure what 'BTC wallet' is but good luck with your "solar power and perpetual energy campaign."

I don't believe in any form of centralized money. It's weak, and penetrable. BTC=bitcoin

its not just citizen banking. it's anarcho-syndicalism ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-syndicalism ) across the board that we want.

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

I understand that. This is just the beginning of our campaign. We have to demand progress. I for one am willing to stand up and make that change collectively.

Hey, you don't have to do that, you can set your own "lending institution" yourself. There are web sites out there where you can lend your money to your fellow man and you can determine how much profit you want to make.

Here's a web site to get you started: http://www.prosper.com/

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

Thank you for the info. I'm already fund raising in my own way, but I'll look into it.

[-] 2 points by SteveKJR1 (8) 1 year ago

From what I understand it is a pretty secure way of lending money. I heard about it awhile ago and it seems as time passed it was working.

If you have money to lend down the road, I would definitely look into it. I am sure there are other web sites out there you can also look into.

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

Agreed.

There are many out there I've looked into. I think prosper.com is one of the most secure lenders in the system.

Well I have to say I admire you for having a goal to do that. I wish there were more people on this site that would understand that having a goal to succede works.

Well thank you very much for your support. I hope we can all collectively spark this type network globally.

"We must set up"....did you forget where you are? This isnt Iceland. Its the USA.

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

And? We don't have to accept their narrative.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 1 year ago

"We" dont. Lord knows I dont. Getting the other 98% involved and off the couch is a whole other story

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

Why the quotes? We're in this together.

Agreed.

Oh boy are we ever. Its going to be rough watching the people get fucked over relentlessly by our gov while they attack their neighbors for alleged beliefs.

They have this nation trained like a show poodle.

[-] 1 points by ivyquinn (167) 1 year ago

Our society has become a nation of sheeple.

So true, but . . . to stop there is to entertain a cognitive distortion.

A generalization. There are dynamics that need to be understood to know actual progress in the act of working for appropriate self determination.
