What this will do is help retroactively legalize the looting of intellectual property, ingoing since 1947, over phone lines. The NSA gets information and shares it with corporate clients, in collusion with ATT, to start with, but they can branch out to media corporations, for example Warner-ATCO, Sony, etc., and presto! Loads of punk, funk, classic rock, Kottke, Benson, Halen, Pistols, Ramones, Journey, Who, Stones since Sticky Fingers, and I don't know who is not a ripoff or who does not promote ripped music, from the corporate level. Then RIAA protects the ripoffs, from downloads, home copies, and file sharing, by private parties. They also do political surveillance.
