I've never seen this quote by MLK. He nailed it!
Individualism is a truth, and collectivism is a truth. Both exist at the same time, therefore the need to reconcile them. The answer is a socially conscious democracy for a good and just society. We don't even have democracy anymore, it's just a fake democracy. We have fascism because Capitalism has evolved into allowing the big dogs to kill the small dogs, a natural evolution.
Democracy is essential to preventing the horrible consequences of inequality. I understand the "tyranny of the majority" aspect of government and we would have to deal with that IF we ever have Democracy again. It would be much better than whatever we have that exists now.
